hi,
Just some updates for this tpa3255
Main capacitor is nichicon 1000uf 50v 105 celcius
Regulator is XL7015 ( max 80v)
The inductor have no marking but board have 101 labeled
Opamp is NE5532P
Hope you guys find it helpful

An "101" inductor means 100uH. The smps chip is XL7015 operating at 150Khz. These two components are used for the same purpose as in the Zero-Zone board but with (52/150)x(10/100) = one thirties of the ripple current designed for in the Zero-Zone board. Seems reasonable.
Still in doubt if these amp can use 48v power adapter since the capacitor is 50v too little headroom
I wish it was 63v but was a bit disappointed. Nevertheless it's cheap and can be upgrade later

Headroom for what, please? I assume the suggested PSU's output voltage is regulated?
Best regards!

Was referring to the capacitor is rated as 50v and I'm using 48v power adapter . IMHO, Usually capacitor rating should be at least 10% higher than supply voltage for stability and Long term usage
If a 50V cap should "better be used" at -10%, it would be called a 45V capacitor.
If you use a capacitor in an unregulated supply, 10% over voltage may occur in the grid and then 2V might be a little bit at the edge.
Capacitors are not very complicated parts. They are quite robust and may have a very long live.
Because of the high end community paying ridiculous prices for special "Audio-grade" caps, this theme has been hyped and complicated for years.
If you buy a special electrolytic from, maybe, Mundorf, all that is special about it is the fancy print on the plastic. Inside is just a cap from some "not fancy" producer, hopefully from a good one...
The truth is only 10$ away, for such little money you can buy a universal electronic parts tester, that will give a good idea about the real values of caps and other parts. Even if the results are no way "lab precise", you can fairly good compare parts.
I tested all kind of caps and found even used ones dating from 1984 better than, for example, "Elna for Audio".
So, don´t worry to much, a decent 50V capacitor will stand 49.9 volt for a very long time. Some will always fail, just as any man made part. Better a cap than a 737.

Some time ago I bought 3 channel amp from 3eaudio - TPA3251 3ch - EAUMT-0100-3-A
Just tested that amp with meanwell HLG-240H-36A
according to specs:
TPA3251-3CH-200W | 3e Audio
amp is described as
100W @ 1% THD+N, 1kHz, 4Ω, CH1&2
200W @ 1% THD+N, 1kHz, 2Ω, CH3
CH1 & CH2 work independently fine but I am not sure how do i activate channel 3 as not getting any sound from ch3?
There are some jumpers on board but as its 3 ch amp I would thought they all would be active Anyone maybe know this amp and maybe say what am I doing wrong then?

ive been trying to find this an aliexpress and no luck. can u provide a link?
@mixmz.
You must feed it a 3rd input signal. It wont put out the 3rd channel with 2 input signals.
The 3rd channel is pbtl so if you look on the underside of the board the silkscreen will show which output connections to use.

Sorry I probably wasn't clear enough.
Tested input ch1 with speaker output ch1 and that worked ok , then tested input ch2 with speaker output ch2 and that also worked, when checked input ch3 (there are no more inputs) with speaker output for ch3 there was no sound on both amps ,but I have to admit I havent tried input ch3 with speaker output ch4.

It's not a good idea to leave any channel unconnected to a speaker (or load resistor) with Class D amps, there is a risk of burning out the chip.
Assuming your board is still fully functioning; To get 3rd channel output, you need to connect your sub +ve lead to 'out3-' and your sub -ve lead to 'out4-' as shown on the drawing of the underside of the board in the manual.

Perfect now its clear, thank you.

But does it all still work?
I have the 2 channel version of this amp, and am very happy with it. What are your impressions of the 3 channel version?

Will test it later when back at home.
As mentioned earlier I only tested CH1&2 on 2 amps and did not configure the system to use all 3 channels at the same time yet.
One disappointment I had was a very noticeable noise from one 3eaudio power supply for this amp ,therefore bought meanwell PS.
As a quick test I paired this 3eaudio amp with topping dx7 pro dac and used topping volume control and was really surprised by its sound. Very good indeed.
I bought those boards for 3 way active project but still dont have all needed parts (originally wanted to use them with okto dac8 dsp version but as its no longer available so Im waiting now for some other sensible alternatives) and in the meantime I was going to use those amps in simple monoblock configuration but using only 1 channel per side and wasn't aware that unused inputs/outputs on multi-channel amp might be an issue.
If thats the case ,it might be a good excuse to try SURE amp AA-AB32516 🙂
Hello,
I’m looking into building an amplifier based upon a TPA3255. Would following the schematic in the TI datasheet for this chip in section 10.2.1 on page 22 yield a decent stereo amplifier while adhering to the design practices mentioned? Or should I look for a different design for this chip?
And to power it I would make a 50v linear supply? Any thoughts?
Thanks
