TPA3251d2

I'm pretty certain that Sagami makes ICE's inductors.

The ferrite material shape and plastic base are identical, outer dimensions are the same, the only obvious difference is the ICE 1D14A uses round wire and the Sagami 7G14D uses flat wire. Unless ferrites and base plates are commodity things like ETD cores and holders are...

Most of the Wurth stuff is equal/~same as Coilcraft, like the flat mount flat wire inductors. Some others are like the Coilfraft MSS series. This series, even the biggest ones aren't that optimal, what we've seen from the measurements. 5thelement compared them against ICE. Some plots should be avail here in the thread.

im having terrible problems trying to get the Coilcraft GA3416 in the uk coilcraft want 27 dollers to ship here anyone have suggestions maybe a European distributor

I thought about alternatives already to retrofit on the existing pads.

Vishay IHLD-4032KB-5A might be a temporally solution but saturation is "softer" than the Coilcrafts.

wow im blown away just had email from coilcraft saying they will ship two inductors as samples.
i even gave a hotmail address and they seem to be happy with that they are saying they have processed the order and they will send tracking details in a few days and that they are shipping first class from Iowa.
im going to have to say im not used to getting things for free so im pretty damned impressed and will be putting as much buisness their way as possible in the future
so a big thumbs up for coilcraft 🙂

hello, preliminary thinking about a design.
what easy to implement solution would you recomend to create a dual +-12V from single +36V to power opamps for the input stage ?

How "good" should TPA3251 Vdd and GVdd (+12V) be ? is a low noise linear regulator required or would a buck converter do ?
thanks

Yes looked at EVM. TI has a tendancy to put their latest and greatest technology in the eval boards design, even if overkill. Like high end opamps or low noise linear ldo regulators where ordinary and cheaper solutions would do.
I was wondering if there is any feedback from early builders to know how sensitive TPA3251 is on Vdd and GVdd "quality".

For the dual voltage supply, my question is indeed not related to TPA3251. It's a generic question to get some new fresh ideas and current chips references. By default, i would use a buck converter with isolated outputs and transformer.

Well, that Buck IC they used isn't really "the newest latest". 🙂

I haven't had any problems to get away with 5532 and 317 linear regulators even if the 5532 where a bit suspicious on collecting RF noise. But this got fixed easily. It pretty much depends on how you implement the AFE. Compared to the "old school" 317 regulators with additional noise eater (like shown in every datasheet) modern FET ldos are more critical in selecting the right cap/ESR/capacitance. I'd a bunch of different ldos which tend to oscillate or ring. If using single supply, just get your reference rail tight and clean and do a low impedance layout with small current loops. The IC does a pretty good job on the rest. PVCC ringing should be kept low.
