Hi,
Is that from Amazon and available? Please take and post pics of all mods. It would be great at this point of the thread to have a green gen2 green board mod "tutorial" after such a long discussion. What opamp are you going to install?

No not from Amazon, China BrandExport Store / Aliexpess, I waited a long 62 days to get it.

I have 2 different OP Amps for testing, OPA627's & OPA1656's. Both will require about a 100+ hours of break in.

My god 62 days....
No need to wait for a 100h burn to to hear improvements with OPA1656. A few hours should be ok. When I installed my 4 OPA1656 in my new BRZHIHI TPA3255 , improvements jumped to ear at first listen.

I just found it. Seems that shipping is down to 30 days. Looks like the Chinese are catching up with shipping, or so they claim.

What power supply are you going to use and voltage?

tks,

Francis

Mine came from this seller, but either seller will most like give you the same result at this point.

I'm using a real Meanwell LRS-200-36 from Mouser, cost is about $35 shipped.
They have a built in voltage adjustment, turning it all the way down yields roughly ~32 volts which is where I'll run it at.

Generally there is very little difference that I can see.
There is a different value inductor, 10 instead of 22, and the Elna Silmic (red robe) have been replaced with what look like fake Nichicon Gold.

If I was modding this I would be tempted to change 4 (fake) Nichicon (C5, C10, C15, C20), just by the opamps, and the ouput inductors (L2, L4, L6, L8), the 2 Elna power caps (C36, C37) because these are only rated at 35v to 50v. Do the blue PP caps (C32, C33, C38, C39) effect the sound. If they are fake then maybe some decent WIMA.

Oh and of course change the Opamps. Speaking of which, is there a proper tool to remove the opamps?

There is an easy way to remove OP Amps, you just need a fairly thin and solid wire that you insert between the socket and the OP Amps and then you gently pull it towards you and straight. Works fine for me !

Seems that the Tilear black PCB is definitely the best version. 🙄

I ordered the Aiyima 3251 on March 8th as it was "in stock" at Amazon.
It took about 8 weeks but was trackable ; and delayed .
The silver model in stock at Amazon I ordered first week of May from Amazon took 2 and a half weeks , so things are moving more quickly .
Both were from the same seller at YIMA Electronics .

I got mine in only 4 days just before the Corona Virus in France. Bought it in Amazon USA, I was very lucky )

Hi Lee,

The tool is a dip extractor tool. Not required but makes life easier and pins do not get bend. I am adding a pic of one without the link as I have no idea if the seller is good. They are common.

The problem with the Aiyima Amplifiers is the Signal capacitors are so close the the ends of the chip that there is no space to use a normal extractor tool.

I have found that a pair of angled tweezers are the best tool to remove the original DIL8 chips as ou can slide it in between the legs from the side and then just pop it out of the socket.
