Yes. After some more listening I am more positive. I can hear that the untreated speaker is not sounding as the one with panel on. And when both panels are in place who knows....🙂.
I will paint that edge to get it to melt into the look of it all.

It did not turn too back-heavy yes? Still firm on its stand when giving it a nudge at the front?
No since it is not heavy. Stone had been better I think for sound but more trouble with looks and cutting.
Did the other speaker yesterday night. I will report how it is sounding tomorrow when everything is 100% dry.
Did some listening to the cd that was easiest to hear the resonances with and it is clearly better now so I consider my mod a good one.

I bought this together with a friend. Measured my room and so on. I have a room node at 49 Hz and a small peak at 500Hz. I am trying tio find what is causing the 500. I measured close to one speaker at 1 meter and it looked just fine with no peak so it should be something with my room.

I am glad I did the mod since it works, but I have noticed one thing. The top part of the back is still making too much noise. Any suggestions how to get rid of it? A little mod to stop this would be perfect. Maybe some bitumen might help?
I can feel it and also hear it when I press my ear to it. Even if I am not sure it is there at listening position I would be surprised if it does not affect sound in listening position. I have learned that the ear is very sensitive. I hope you are not tired of me Salas 🙂, but I would like to get rid of it. One thought I had is to put a lump of clay at it and listen what happens.
Yes just for a test. I did a repositioning of them closer to back wall (again) and they sound very good, we will see if I can remove that "noise" and if it makes any difference.
Bought some white clay to play with (not syntetic). Will try tonight, I can always build little clay figures if I don´t like this mod, lol.
