it is own necessary U1?
I have modified the schematic :
Thank
Yes it is. The opamp locks the output at 1/2 supply voltage, and acts like a dynamic DC feedback path that bias up Q1 at the same time. No need to worry about it, the circuit sounds fine even with that opamp.... (or partly because of )
BTW with the output at 12V, this is probably a good place to drop in a Black Gate NP, since they are rumoured to sound best with some voltage over them, right Tony😉
🙂
BTW These chassis, that I am working on, will become the home of Le Cheff's masterpiece😎
They are standing right on their faces😉

Manu said:That could be NS10 with groundplane (Steen's wish) on both Up and Bottom, with GRD traces running on the Up side.
Brd size : 90x60 mm [35.4 x 23.6 inches]

Manu, you getting good at this, really fast

Very fast indeed ... In the time It takes me to copy Tonys little board, you just build 2 complete mono amps ...
🙄
So ... The new version of the NS10 board.
I corrected some components orientation issues (my bad, not Tonys)
Still double sided, this time with just Top side ground plane and GRD traces also on the top (is it a good idea?).
BTW : Do you want the GRD plane being connected to the SIG GRD trace at some point ? Where?
(As an example I put a Jumper with thermal pad near DC input connector for this purpose.)
At your service

Thank you Manu, I'm just making sure I will have something to build if I ever find myself with some free time on my hands.

Has anyone compared the NS10 to the P1.7 (Aleph)? It sounds like the "Man with 10 000 amps" (Steenoe) is using the NS10, so it must be special

No need to thank me.
Tony is concocting a very nice and splendid, and very compact new shuntreg board ...
Soon we will be all happyest camper ...

I would trust Mr. (at least) 10.000 DIY amp's taste ...

That’s a very good question, more than most think.
Even thou on my layout is connected I would usually not do it, that’s because we were supposly following Nelson’s design of those past days but really don’t know if he did it this way…. So…
Today I keep input signal ground separated from the general ground of the circuit and join them at the star Grd. together, in this case, with R2.
But that’s my flavor
😉
Manu , my humble xperience ;
lookie lookie on Shunty pcb - you have two possible bridges for connecting gnd plane and power gnd ;
preferred one is at power input side ........
but - NB that bridge is for power gnd and gnd plane connection , not audio gnd in any case ....

That must be some kind of telepathy (soul transmission without the need of PSU -

OK I ll check Nomenklatura ...
Anyway...
About our travel to next BAF : we make a stopp in Mexico and kidnapp Tony on the way ... right?
Manu
Fine ... I ll send some sausages to wrap around your neck ... just in case of need for surviving.

Good, because you can expect to be travelling in the trunk every mile of the PanAmerican till El Paso.
(sharing it with Z-MeNot for give or take 1,500 miles)
Antonio,
only kidding, slow-driving through Mexico in a classic convertible with 2 nuts and a guide would be a Huck Finn wet dream.
(long time ago me once did the middle part of the P-A, but that was with a real basketcase Puerto-Rican at +60mph)
Anyone of you considered comparing it with a fetty version, or is that sac(k)-rilege ?

me thinks that Antonio already tried ( somewhere in time of first two NS10 threads ....... long time even before Papa made NS10

at least tried Jfet as first skinny
just to remember - Steen my crazy Danske man had one major sin in that time ..... trying shunt reg proto , without 'nuff patience ( "something is buzzing ....... " )
