the Hawaiian ones that I could not find (forgot the name). Restaurants substitute Macadamias which I don't like.
Kukui (sp?) Macadamia doesn't bother me.

That's it, from descriptions it is roasted dark which would have a distinctive strong taste. Macadamias just lie there for me.
Agreed, roasted Macadamias might not taste right. That's it, from descriptions it is roasted dark which would have a distinctive strong taste. Macadamias just lie there for me.
Macadamia oil on salads works very nicely.
Dan.
We are in the zone where winter and spring are still fighting each other.
Sunday, and yesterday, we had great outdoor weather. Took the grandkids to the park, tank top, shorts, and flip flops kind of weather. This morning it took 10 minutes to scrape the ice off the car windows.
The TV weather guy still says it will be 60+ degrees (F) by afternoon today, followed by rain tonight, turning to snow by morning. Up to 3 inches by Thursday evening.
I have to go to Florida next week. They tell me it's already hot there.

I'm with you, macadamias are just greasy paste, much like brazil nuts.
It was ~17C (63F) on Saturday here; yesterday and today it won't break -3C (26F). Here in MN we have a chance of getting below freezing from Sept 20 to May 20.
The nasties are upon us. 5º and hard rain with 40km winds. Good day to stay inside. Too bad I have to head out.

Just finished my first beer of the afternoon after some garden chores; 35C on our sundeck - a freakish little spot, often 10C warmers than the lower patio- and looks like the next couple of days will be warmer yet.
I knew there was a god.
Seems a little chilly, Cal. Don't ya think? At least for around here. 😉
Fourteen days away in paradise and return to snow.....Not the first time that's happened to me. I love where we live but sometimes I wonder.

My #1 domicile is on the banks of Lake Erie...if it's not grey and overcast in the winter I get depressed. Cost of living in OH is 1/4 less than NJ and we have a world-class symphony but no Taylor Ham.
Not where I live.
Such a diety would by definition be omnipresent, but just might have good reason to dispense benificense in a random, undecipherable pattern?
Evan- lovely sunsets
Drove 1200 miles to escape the cold... Well worth it.
The party boat looks familiar, Captiva Island, South Seas?
Fourteen days away in paradise and return to snow
We drove a total of 2600 miles, three stops, gone for 13 days, and....yes we got snow the day after we returned. Today I had to scrape ice from my windshield before my morning trek to the gym.
The western view three weeks ago. Peace and quiet......except when a Gulfstream pointed the nose up and "cracked the sky." We were about 1000 feet from the end of the runway.

Around these parts, when the weather gets like this the girls begin to disrobe. Some of their mummy mounds have not seen daylight for months. It is how you say - a most pleasant time of year.

Those photos are from key west. Most of the two weeks will be spent in Key West with a short bonus trip to visit a friend in Belize.
