yup, summer's definitely here on the Island - 24C on the shaded sundeck for dinner yesterday evening at 8:00
Minus 24º Chris? 🙂
clearly not - that's exactly the type of teyskroking error I'd expect from others
Whilst here in Sunny Scotland we have had a weekend of 60mph winds, wind chill giving as little as 6 C at mid day. And not enough rain to tempt any fresh salmon up the river! But the wind has dropped and I am now going forth to bend by rod! And, surprisingly, I find it harder as I get older!!
36° Celsius this afternoon. ...And this is still Spring time, for another two weeks.
The thermometer on my east-facing front porch is reading 102° F, or 39° Celsius. Weather Underground reports an even 40° C / 105° F. We're heading out to the pool. Gin and tonic may be involved.
Crunchy lawn? Got that. We haven't watered in months, and it sure hasn't rained much in California.

It has been a long stretch of hot weather here on Vancouver Island, with many broken records; low level waters, etc. ...Today few clouds and few drops of rain.
...Hot still, humid.
...Hot still, humid.
Forecast is somewhere between 38 and 41 in these parts this weekend, but daytime humidity of ~17%.
Hydration is the key.

Just came back from Bermuda - too early to get stinking hot there, never reached 30C - but I think it's the humidity of 70% or more that makes me uncomfortable. Some folks love it, me not so much - give me the dry sauna of Osoyoos in June/July over a steam bath, thanks very much.

I'm with you on that, Chris. I'm actually looking forward to the coming heat wave. I just wish there was a way to mute all the bitching I'll be subjected to.
thanks very much.
You should try a swamp.
Prediction for coming sunday is 30C, 84% RH here at the moment.

OK, it's 2 in the afternoon and it's starting to get ugly. I have water in the tub when I need to roll around like a beached whale. This is not good for my constitution.
Must find......the rum bottle......before......it's too late.

we'll suffer in quiet desperation... 😀You should try a swamp.

Actually, I prefer it that way.
Curaçao feels like a hot & humid summer day in NL, but 24 hours a day instead, and 12 months a year.
Houston to Galveston at 30C or higher is more to my liking than California, minus the hurricanes.
(the 30C prediction is for wednesday, not tomorrow, bummer)

40° Celsius today here in the shade; hottest day so far this year.
Not a good day for Class A amps. Heat affects your brain, your body, and also the air you breathe around...no good. It slows your everything; metabolism, speech, fuel efficiency, water level, music tempo, ...

We've been nudging 30C here in England, plenty of humidity, and worse, no wind. The air just heats up and sits on you - I spent a while lying on the floor doing nothing at all.
Some spectacular lightning strikes this evening, though.
