A football/soccer question for NorthStar.
Doesn't the roof at the Vancouver stadium close completely?
Both goalkeepers at the East end of the stadium had big problems with the sun. Even thou the sky was smokey.

Hey, I'm just telling it like it feels...very very hot. ...Don't blame the messenger blame the weather. ...See how around 40° Celsius everyday for the last month or so affects your brain overall. ...And I got no AC air here, we don't usually need it.
I tell ya, after a while you start hallucinating.
* Kevin, Cal can answer your question better than I.

Yes, BC Place stadium roof does close completely but only when rain is expected or in the winter to retain heat. The old roof was an air supported dome but wasn't particularly attractive nor could it open. New roof much more modern and attractive.

Where the heck on VI was it 40C for a whole month. Methinks your thermometer is broken, or in the sunshine.

If our greenhouse had all it's panels in, there have been many days that it would have hit 40C. Just over 30 in the shade is all it's been able to hit.

Does look like the perfect venue for a fairy queen party in orange-pink, n'est-ce pas ?
I see the setting sun is throwing off the colour a bit. It's can be almost any colour.

no doubt a great venue - to which I'm sure Cal can attest
Never been there myself -neither a fan of professional sports or of stadium music concerts

I have to come clean. It was a Boy Scout sleepover about 10 years ago at the stadium. There were a couple thousand of them and I was one of the 'supervisors'. I was kinda hoping for one of the guest suites but alas...
we dyb, dyb, dyb
we dob, dob, dob
Scoutmaster Cal reporting for duty
it's the "clean and reverent" clause in the oath with which I have fun imagining compliance

I had always assumed Canadians called soccer, football like we Brits. 😉
