The Weather

It dropped 11°C in about 20 minutes here today, it being New England it's not unprecedented, but it's definitely strange for it to be warmer at 8AM than 9AM. Listening to music in the man cave with the windows all closed and a sweater. (>1kW of room heating electronics running right now)

Happily I live in the UK. Hampshire to be exact where Hurricanes Hardly Ever Happen, as me and Julie Andrews often Joke.

Could have been nasty if your worktable faced the window, eh? As mine does.
Yes, that could have been a shattering experience.
But was it a wise decision to live on "Thunderbolts Way"?

Evidently a place full of surprises. 🙂
Named after Captain Thunderbolt, the infamous bushranger (aka highwayman, just for you.) But in fact the section inside town is called Bendemeer Street.

They had a little rain in Miami over the weekend. Can you surf on city streets? Will the red Mustang ever run again?

OK, it may be possible to make the Mustang run. That's not all that hard but will be expensive, as long as nobody tried to start the water filled engine, or that it died from water ingestion. All the electronics will be green from electrolysis and need to be replaced. All drive train components will need a thorough flush out. Maybe I should have said, will anyone ever drive the red Mustang again. That location is not far from the Atlantic Ocean so the salty water will surely lead to rust issues in the future, but the feature I remember most from flooded Florida cars is the smell. I wouldn't want to drive one. The insurance company will total the car. Red convertible in Miami, 50-50 odds say it's a rental.

Second day of my vacation and the forecast looks pretty good now! My younger son is at cabin now, I'll go there tomorrow and start constructing - mornings seem appropriate for that and afternoons will be dedicated to sunbathing and swimming. Water temp is now around 16C but will get up to 24C rapidly.

June 24th is called Juhannus, Midsommar in Swedish. 24th is also my name day (Juha - John, Ivan). Summer solstice is celebrated heavily in Scandinavia, sun rises here at 3.20 and sets at 23.14, we are some 500km down from Polar circle.
