Hi all!
My VFETRON 75 running very hot and the thermal pad is not enough for transfer heat. I found a new thermal pad material for better thermal conductivity, please follow the link below:

Please give me some advises about this, thanks!

can you find mica sheets ?
I can't find the big mica for 2SK180
I got a big sheet of keratherm from these guys. Not cheap but I now have a lifetime supply.

Hello Nagini262
Super V-fetron mono blocks
Pads are genuine Tokin made for 500 watts 182 SIT´s.
2SK180 are 300 watts power dissipation transistor.
My council don't spend big money on thermal fancy pads.
What i see your L brackets are not large and with lot's of holes drilled around so performance is limited.
That is more important fat heavy clunky , large L bracket or great T
You can see this in WalterW 100 watts Vfet build , see as well how much he use of heat sink's.
Your country climat every day temperature is hotter if compate with Nederland or Europe in general.
Heat go always up in the air for more efficient use of heat sink your L bracket position is too high .
Fix them up side down, reverse proportion position be better for more efficient heat dissipation.
Cost is free of charge and you get more fun with your fantastic mono-blocks.
Have a nice day
Show on the photos
My is for TO -3 package but you see the principle.
For such high power dissipation you get serious large T bracket i guess.
With two L brackets you can make one T.
Kindest regards

Thanks all for your help! I have no good L bracket so I used T bracket in my stock (the T bracket used for Sony vfet draft). The insulate is so good but when I use my hand touch on the 2SK180 and touch on the T bracket close to 2SK180, the temp is difference too much, I guess the heat transfer through my insulate (rubber material) is not fast so I want to find another material for better transfer, I hope the new material with 1950W/m-K thermal conductivity will give the better result

One T bracket of Sony Diy Vfet are for 7.5 ~ 10 watts and TO-3 package
You can use thermal goop paste layer for heat transfer with the actual pads.
Ok it's probably ready done.
Other tip is about chassis air flow " holes" if you can make them more large.
Sure other thermal pads can do better but i don't expect miracles and cost is small fortune.
I know you do it anyway

...A slightly tangential thought. You could mount the vfet directly to to bracket, and insulate the bracket from the heatsink with some kapton strip. Advantage being that the most important thermal connection between fet and bracket is as good as it can be.
Just a thought! I've not tried to do it that way before.

Rectification :they are 15 ~ 20 watts mono
In class A needs for heat sinks grows expotentially.

Other solution is clamp sit's with aluminium bare to keep temperature down.
Tokin transistor have TO package made with metal so you must isolate them electricaly
and with thermal pad as well on clamp side
Photo is with TO-220 package but you see what i mean.
Cheers

I will try first with the new thermal pad and show the results
Could you mesure actual sit case temperature after 1hour of amplification.
It be interesting to know what difference is with new thermal pad ?

I hope the temp on vfet and the temp on the T bracket are the same when using new thermal pad
I hope the temp on vfet and the temp on the T bracket are the same when using new thermal pad
They can't because transistor case are first in the thermal chain so always hotter is the " fire" center
One again clamp with clunky aluminium bare help if ambient temperature is high like in Viet-Nam ?
75 watts rms in class A generate some thing around 300 ~ 400 watts in heat dissipation ? Calculate how much...
