Finally getting around to my SB build. Laying out the power supply. Doing a CLC this time, attached is the current plan. Two stacked Antek AS-4450 - 400VA 50V. Any issues or rules of thumb with orientation/proximity of inductor to transformer?

I dug up a few photos from our visit. You will see Cyclotron Guy, and young
Colin Pass and Wayne looking at the big triode.

Also you will see the control room, and other pieces of hardware....

My Bubba Uncle Bob sent me these today
He'll chime in, to give additional details (numbers, names)

Polaroid pictures from 1999. This is when Crocker Lab first converted the Power Amplifier Box Box from the 6949 tube to the Eimac 4CW100,000. The first four photos show the 4CW100,000. The next two pictures show both tubes. The tube on the left is the 6949. The last picture is the 6949. The lab is still running with the same 4CW100,000 tube that was installed in 2000. It still has plenty of emission. Cyclotron guy ( Kent English) is in pics 1 and 5. Tim Essert (Chief electronics tech) in pics 4 and 7. For years Tim was the only person on the Davis campus certified to work with 480V. Boyz do need big toyz.

Funny helmets for swinging 55 ft ft long blocks of reinforced concrete. Number of helmets remaining at the end of the day a measure of how successful you were. Dr. Flocchini had very high expectations and exceptional loyalty. A mishap would have been unthinkable!
Between the vacuum tube and daylight. much moving of concrete shielding
