Gotta love the lack of pretentiousness. When in Maui, do as the islanders... I mean, c'mon what else could you possibly add to rice and nori and make it so good?Spam Musubi
ack!
I must say I was taken aback at first but many moons ago, these same persons introduced me to poke, so I'm thinking they must be forgiven for their sins.
Gotta love the lack of pretentiousness.
There's a huge thread of anti-pretentiousness going on, look at all the piled high gross burgers on the food shows. No attention to the quality of meat, piled high with processed cheese food, mayo and ketchup dressing, etc.
'Real' Mac 'n' cheese can be quite something depending on your taste in cheese.
My mother used to make a version that also had smoked ham cubes and she used homemade spätzle instead of macaroni.

Never a happy medium (or medium-rare, IMO 😉) between extrema to be found.
And just to show a range of tastes... I have been enjoying off the shelf Ramen noodles for the last 10 days.
There might be a reason

Finally just about gone.
Now can that explain pineapple pizza? 🙂
Upside, I lost weight.

Glad you are recovering Ed.
Ah, Cal such typical Canadian niceness and courtesy. Almost makes me forget when a bunch "standing on guard for thee" visited Washington D.C. and left their mark. Fortunately we were able to whitewash the evidence left behind.
Thanks

There was the $777 burger in Vegas. Piled with nothing but luxury food, and a bottle of Dom Perignon Rose to wash it down.
That leaves $760 more than at least the decadent burger part. You could get a second system for yourself on the change. 😉
With Canadian lumber? hehe.
A few years back I built my back porch out with Canadian lumber except the Home Depot turned parts were Chinese. The deck was recycled plastic "wood."
Well all the turned parts rotted out with many pieces sprouting mushrooms from spores inside the wood!
Now replacing the pieces with Canadian lumber that I am carving myself. Of course carving is not quite the word as I am using my CNC router.
2 very tall rear columns, 4 a foot shorter and two short ones for the foot of the steps all carved. Hand rails for the porch cut to size but still to route and tenon. That is for this weekend. Next come the panels under the rails, but those will be local white oak, also carved. Should be finished by fall. (The season not the accident waiting to happen whilst the rails are down.)
But to stay on topic, Today managed a spicy seafood gumbo! Can actually breath well every so often.

On topic? Well, I imagine the porch is a great place to enjoy a meal so it's right on topic.
Good to hear about the breathing part.

then there's Don Cherry - so we beat the Yankees to embarrassment with a "Don" by a couple of decades?
edit - oh, yah - poutine, anyone?

Problems with the forum today?
I can only access through my iPad.
Besides, we had grilled tuna today. Very tasty! And grilled cheese and sallad made of fresh veggies.
