The food thread

With Canadian lumber? hehe.

A few years back I built my back porch out with Canadian lumber except the Home Depot turned parts were Chinese. The deck was recycled plastic "wood."

Well all the turned parts rotted out with many pieces sprouting mushrooms from spores inside the wood!

Now replacing the pieces with Canadian lumber that I am carving myself. Of course carving is not quite the word as I am using my CNC router.

2 very tall rear columns, 4 a foot shorter and two short ones for the foot of the steps all carved. Hand rails for the porch cut to size but still to route and tenon. That is for this weekend. Next come the panels under the rails, but those will be local white oak, also carved. Should be finished by fall. (The season not the accident waiting to happen whilst the rails are down.)

But to stay on topic, Today managed a spicy seafood gumbo! Can actually breath well every so often.
