I getting a partial foodie woodie. Will let you know how it turns out.
You can get pills for that Cal...then go the whole hog!

Whole hog roast and there would be nothing 'partial' over here.
Surface Pro here I come.
This late afternoon I had a talk with the guy that builds a corporate website for me.
He had a fully-loaded Surface Pro, gave me a demo of how it easy it is to connect/disconnect the add-ons.
Very nice, looks like my days of cursing ipad autocorrect are over.
(Fyi, which auto-switches itself back to the auto-setting every time I take it across the border. That thing has hammer-time coming)
I didn't think I would use mine much but now I find it's invaluable. I do my reports while in the field and I use my phone to tether for internet access on the road. The phone is just too small for my stubby fingers. Can't live without my iPad now. Best electronic thingy thing I ever bought, errr, had given to me. 🙂

I bought a 10" android tablet. I hardly ever use it: annoying to type (even surf) on, wifi sucks the battery down in ~5hrs, mainly useful for reading books or pdf's with wifi off.
I know several people with surface pro's and they love them. The only downside is a rather loud fan, apparently, but they have plenty of grunt and some even do cad on them (connected to two large monitors).
Changing the subject, I came across an article that may explain why Cal is such a foodie 😉

Completely on the other end of the fancy food stuff, this is breakfast today. Incredibly simple and amazing. BTW, Chef John's video series is fantastic, he's probably the best teacher alive today.

(Somewhat speech impeded, lisp. Add to that an amateur-presenter level speech rate of 10 words a second. On a regular TV cooking show I'd keep staring at his mouth instead of the food, he'd annoy the H out of me within minutes)
Actually, I find his presentation to be perfect. Not at all mannered or shaped, just down-to-earth and easy to understand.
hehe, my friends tell me I used to but I really don't remember.why Cal is such a foodie 😉
Which is why I think they might be right. 🙂
Check out Chef John's "Pad Thai Popcorn" it's delicious. But it goes mushy in just a few hours so you gotta make it right before serving.

Hot or cold, whatever, I'll take the whole D.. plate, the moment I can get my tongue off the screen.

I have a little Android tablet and quite like it, except for autocorrect. The auto complete is quite good though, and otherwise I use it to check emails, light browsing, etc. My only complaint is it has a lousy camera, so if I am traveling I have to choose between a lousy picture I can share right away, or a decent photo on my DSLR that has to wait until I get home and can upload photos to my computer.
My wife had an iPhone and it had a pretty good camera, but not as good as my Nikon and a bag of lenses.
Cal,
if you ever get tired of roofs and decide to open up a Vietnuck restaurant, reserve a table seat for me on the opening day.
You know you have a standing invite here. If you weren't so busy, it would have happened already.
OTOH, I am tiring of work and as soon as I get someone to take over, I'll retire. Maybe we'll be meeting in Curacao or Rotterdam. Both sound good to me.
