Pork shoulder overstock. $1/lbs. max 3 shoulders per family per day. Two days, 6 shoulders. 4 now frozen. Two turned into floss and Bingo food.
I need to buy three pork butt roasts on or about the 1st and do a dry rub cure on them. I have to smoke them on the 10th for my son to take to a party. Currently they are going for $1.99/#.
Having some rump steak with Masterfoods pepper steak spices straight up and some mashed potato.
EDIT: mmm not bad.

Boneless, picnics or...? All I know is I'm bound to be tired of pork soon enough.
I never liked pork in the first place. I like honey leg ham but only because of the presence of honey. Always felt that pork was too bland tasting.
You're doing it wrong, then Venus. 😉 It's pretty neutral, so it does take on the flavors you choose to give pork. But provides an incredibly good substrate to build off of.
Also: don't forget about carnitas, my pork shoulder-loving friends.

Lucky Supermarket grand opening today at 1pm.
Lucky Supermarket
We are not short of asian markets but I thought I'd go check it out.
1pm - no chance, parking lot over full, 100's lined-up outside waiting to enter the store.
Buddy and I went to the brew pub close by.
2pm - managed to park a block away and walk right in.
So full, the fire department would have shut them down. Line ups for the cashier were the full length of the store. Maybe 30 or more in each line up, clogging every aisle. Didn't buy anything. I hate lining up to spend my money.
The store? It was ok. Some good opening specials but the other markets around have similar or better prices. I will go again as we like to shop around for the deals but nothing to write home about this time. Too bad it took them forever to open.

I have a patio with a canopy and glass railing where I grow my tomatoes. It's now 37º there. That's close to the point where the plants actually stop growing.

Tonight: Pizza dogs
Get good buns from the baker and if you need decent wieners, ok, but the supermarket ones are fine for this.
The trick is to put most things in the sauce. Start with crushed tomatoes and seasoning and add from there. I like to broil or grill bell peppers, mushrooms and onions. Then add them and some black olives to the food processor, then transfer to the sauce. Cook until it thickens a bit. Add sauce to bun, add a couple slices of pizza pepperoni, toss in a wiener, some cheese and broil.
Hey if you're gonna eat hot dogs, they might as well be good. Here's the sauce.

Classic combination, in my house a big lump of vanilla ice cream is de rigueur.

Yes, I just ate a bite, ice cream or even whipped cream would complete it.
FWIW, the peaches at Costco are peaking right now.
Those were Ontario peaches I got at a local market, sometimes the Ontario peaches are picked early and are not ripe when we get them, but these ones were excellent. The raspberries are from my back yard, I picked them just before baking the tart.
I had an amazing Dr Oetker Gluten Free pizza last night and I think I'll have the second one sometime tonight.
Amazing about pizza in the UK, door delivered or frozen from the super, is that the pizza tastes no different than the box
I mentioned the UK, as the bottom of a Dr O pizza to me has simularity to an oversized tea biscuit. Both in thickness, texture and flavour (sugary)
The Dr No ones here look identical to the ones on O.au
What's the amazement ?

Actually the box may really taste the same! The oils from the toppings often saturate the box and oils tend to carry the spices.
So which has better mouth feel? 😉

Dr Oetker 'pizzas' are frozen and wrapped in plastic before being boxed.
The best thing I can say about them is that they won't kill you...at least not straight away.
