Yes of course. Provided Id is in the range you want at Vgs=0, then the circuit is very simple. I am a complete convert to the circlotron source follower output stage. It has everything you want.

If you are happy with increasing the output impedance then no worries. You can always start parralleling output devices to try and reduce the output impedance due to increased source resistance, or forget about degeneration and cascode to reduce power dissipation

you could always add a biasing circuit i suppose , but I like the beauty of it without one
