These PMC wave-guides can be seen as employing two very different expansions that are interlaced. I have been thinking that the most dramatic effects of a wave-guide occur close to the dome. Not all the effects, by any means, but the pressure loading on the dome is going to be more intense close in. My experience with this is limited, and not documented, so if there are others with more scientific (or practical) background in this, I would find it enlightening.

No, they are not. I had to go through a vendor and order them as replacements. They asked for the serial number but I kind of ignored that and they sold them to me anyways. Apparently these were the last pair they have. They always come in a matched set. They won't let you buy just one. The speaker designer told me to go this route and see what would happen. It worked out. So really, I just got lucky.So are those PMC mid domes generally available, and if so, where? They do look very interesting.
Sorry for not keeping up. Been very sick and not recovering. I have very little energy from blood loss. This may be my new normal until it progresses further.
