"Whether you like piano rolls, pre-1920 cylinders, 78s from the 20s, 30s, 40s and 50s or early 45s and mono LPs, this is your station.
Sounds like my kind of station! I need to check if I can get it here in blighty. I haven't added a radio station for so long I can't even remember how to!
Here is your quote. This is already practically documented! Here is a nice recipe how to make a really good cable. Funniest snake oil theories Hans
So when they're not playing something that is too horribly distorted for broadcast, I find listening in mono using both channels to be a pleasant experience. (A mono source is the only way I can listen in mono and this little KBRD station is a convenience...)
While the number of butts on the sofa who can view the pinpoint of the image focus isnt as wide as i'd like, sitting dead centered as usual, it generally sounds like the majority of sound is emanating from a point directly between the speakers - the same thing that happens to the monaural bits in a stereo recording.
However, the mind (or the equipment) plays tricks and it seems all the image is below the level of the speakers. On both systems. Not so much in stereo material.
So what. The monaural material seems perfectly compatible with my stereo amplifier and two L-R speakers. The better the recording, the better it sounds. It fills in the space between the speakers nicely, to where I wouldnt consider creating a special single speaker mono system.
I wonder what some higher res all digital monaural modern recording would sound like? Probably pretty good on my system.

John, what do you think, an interconnect cable with a much higher resistivity than copper (for example 20 times), can less load the output stage of the preamplifier with its capacitance? They should have used a 50K
Are you a John? The question was for an expert.

One time I shipped lead weights for a diver's belt I had sold on ebay in one of those USPS priority boxes... I cut 3/4" MDF panels for the top and bottom; apparently the sides held up on their own. I shipped a bench vise one time also.

This is a very high level in fact, much more than you think, but you just don't know. Your opinion is also interesting to me, as well as the opinion of Mr. Scott.More like a voodoo devotee begging for the attention of his cargo cult priest.

Yeah, how many people did this one fly over. No insinuations to Mr. Curl, but it does almost seem the relationship part of the "high-end" audio community has with itself.
I have to thank you, I never knew the USPS boxes had a 70lb. limit now I can give away a lot more stuff.
Actually if you are really giving stuff away, you can easily fit $7,000,000.00 in one-hundred dollar bills in one of the large USPS priority boxes. I will of course be glad to take a few!
