It has become a no brainer for me that that everytime I see a RC4580 or for that matter even the NJM4580, I rip them out and replace it with a LM4562.
Lol cheers, I have a couple here and I thought they seemed ok, at least to replace tl072 is some applications.

It is my favourite, new and improved version of LM4562.
Haven't tried them. As of yesterday, the OPA1642 has become my new favourite. It's expensive though.. :|

Just replaced the lm4562 with a lme 49860. Initial listening comes with a tighter and deep bass. The rest all seem similar. Will burn in the chip and hear how it goes. Will the forum updated.

I've heard all the op-amps mentioned here and their performance/sound will depend upon the application and the surrounding circuitry.
Still these op-amp "rolling" threads are fun to read, though.

The result: I absolutely love the OPA2132P. I've owned it for well over a year and never really gave it much of a chance because I had so many other "awesome opamps".

If you like the OPA213x. You'll really like the SparcoLabs discrete. They sound similar but the discrete is more transparent.
3h of listening/tweaking. My opinion has changed. Putting OPA1612s in the entire path makes a lot of difference. Previously, the OPA1612s were still colored by the other OPA2228 and LM4562 in the path.
After changing every opamp in the listening path to OPA1612, the neutrality and precision of the OPA1612 really shines through. I'm putting OPA1612 now ahead of OPA2228 and LM4562 respectively.

Will do fine... I use the, slightly faster AD826 as an IV, which sounds much, much better than the 2604 I used before. More detail, good balance between highs and lows and good dynamics.What about OPA827AID?
The LT1028 appears to be on about the same level, but I haven't tried that one since I'm plagued by a tight budget for this hobby...
How it performs compared to the LME's I can't tell either.

Me also, and I have a few OPA827 purely as they were bundled with the last TI samples I got, some time ago. LT1028 looks interesting,but they are costly, as you say.
