LOL.

I just "downgraded" to OPA2132P after many months of using "high end" duals and singles on dual adapters (such as LME49710HA x2 , OPA627 x2, LM6172, etc.)

The result: I absolutely love the OPA2132P. I've owned it for well over a year and never really gave it much of a chance because I had so many other "awesome opamps".

Pffft.

3h of listening/tweaking. My opinion has changed. Putting OPA1612s in the entire path makes a lot of difference. Previously, the OPA1612s were still colored by the other OPA2228 and LM4562 in the path.

After changing every opamp in the listening path to OPA1612, the neutrality and precision of the OPA1612 really shines through. I'm putting OPA1612 now ahead of OPA2228 and LM4562 respectively.

Haven't tried them. As of yesterday, the OPA1642 has become my new favourite. It's expensive though.. :|

OK, which one is the best now OPA1612 or OPA1642??

The bandwidth is an intrinsic part of its performance and a crucial aspect to consider when choosing a device for a given application. So bandwidth is just one aspect of performance that defines the whole device.

Take a 3 amp fuse and ask 'does the 3 amp rating of the fuse affect its performance' ? Its the same type of question.

What about OPA827AID? I have a few surface mount devices, ii could use with DIP adapters...
A few LME49710/20/40 Ha
A couple LT1115..
A couple of OPA2132.
INA217.(maybe not useful in this case)

Ive been building an active crossover, initially based around ne5532 then LME49740 for all stages, both the buffers and filter stages.

I really want to try a set of LT1028

What suits best...

What about OPA827AID?
Will do fine... I use the, slightly faster AD826 as an IV, which sounds much, much better than the 2604 I used before. More detail, good balance between highs and lows and good dynamics.
The LT1028 appears to be on about the same level, but I haven't tried that one since I'm plagued by a tight budget for this hobby...

How it performs compared to the LME's I can't tell either.
