Does those Phoenix SFR16S type are as good as Caddocks MK132?
Hello Peter,
The boards arrived last week in Paris. Very fast delivery and high quality boards !😎
Many greetings from France,
Olivier

I thought I will be done with the boards, as the pair I sent to Jürgen was the last one, but then I received two envelopes with cash inside and request for 3 more PCBs. 😉
So I'm ordering more; if anyone needs them please e-mail.

I just noticed that there is a question mark next to R-8 on the Pass Schematic. Whats up there and what is the correct method in determining its value... if its needed? I am familiar with R-1 and such.
Thanks!

Thanks!

There were some threads in a past about those not specified resistors. Generally, they are not really needed. I didn't use them in my prototype.
Thanks Peter.!
I Was just ordering the passive parts form Digi-Key and wanted to include it if needed.

Why do you think that,Peter? Are the fins to short are what?
I'am thinking to build an encloser around it and use a fan.

As it is, without a fan, I have doubts whether it would dissipate enough heat. I've just got working a stero amp using PD's boards and the amount of heat really surprised me

I also tried a fan to force cool one channel and it made a huge difference to the temperatures, so if you intend fan cooling then go for it, if you design it right I'm sure it'd be OK.
BTW I'm listening to mine now 😎 great

Yes, the fins are too short. Using fan may help.
Kev,Peter, thanks for replying.Do you have a picture of your amp?I'am gonna work something out but first I'll do some tests.
input ground
Peter,I'am planning to use single ended input. What connection do I've to make or can I make?

That heat sink, it would be enough for a aleph Mini A. Not a A 30.
Re: input ground
I described all the options here:

I picked up a large bonded fin heat sink the other day and cut it in half for this project. Size is 6.125 high 3" thick and 8" wide, base plate is .230 thick. I can add a couple of small computer fans running slowly if needed below each sink bit I would prefer to stay convection. Do you guys think this is adaquate sinking for convection cooling? It is alot of square inches of area but I'm not sure what the thermal resistance is for this sort of sink.
Thanks!
Mark
Thanks!
