My email on this page was old, but it should have been updated now......

Peter, I sent you an email a few days ago, but haven't heard back. I would really like to get a set of boards, and am also thinking about getting your premium kit off of audiosector.com. Could I place an order for the kit and send you an extra $25 for the a30 boards?
In that case; you should have a new one by now.My email on this page was old, but it should have been updated now......

Yes and I have returned one, accepting you nice offer!

Nothing really, Jh😉 Just offered a helping hand for a fellow DIY'er, thats all🙂What is going on here? Confused as usual . .
JH, I love your new avatar. You turned from confused guy, to really cool looking guy, pretty fast😀

Skorpio, I ordered a set of boards for you😎
I placed the order for 25 boards today and they should be ready next Friday.
There are still some available, but who knows for how long 😉

regulated power supplies
Newbie question:
Can a pair of regulated SLS-24-120T sola power supplies energize an Aleph 30? I'm using this amp for my top-end (tri-amped) 500hz to 20,000hz; so I need transient response rather than brute power (bass) capacity.
They're rated at 25volts, 12amps. I thought I could couple a pair to get 25+ /0/ 25- out.
Is this enough power to drive stereo, or should it remain mono?
Seems to me, the ripple is 0.05% of output.
I'm having one heck of a time locating 100,000uf caps! This is one of the reasons that I'm following this train of thought.
Thanks everyone,
John Inlow

Each Aleph 30 circuit draws 2 amps, so a stereo will need 4 amps. I you want to raise the bias to improve performance, you will mabye see 1 amp more for two channels - those supplies are rated at 12 amps, so I think its safe to use two in series to power a stereo A30, as the current draw is constant, given the Class A design. Weather it is OK to serielcouple the two supplies is another question that I dont have the knowledge to answer. How good it will sound I also dont know, but they seem to be made for noise sensitive circuits.
Why do you need 100.000uF caps ?
Cheers !

May I have the final A30 board in pdf file? Unless this given in pdf file at the beginning of this thread is correct
thank you in advance

100,000uf caps
Hi Buhl,
I'm looking for six 100,000uf caps because that's what the schematics call for. If I'm going to alter the plan, then why not REALLY alter it? Hence, the desire to use a very clean, regulated PS. These units have 3millivolts of ripple. Seems pretty clean...
I figure I can couple a positive and negative output lead to create ground/center. Hope this is correct.
Thanks for responding,
John Inlow

10,000uF?
Guess I can't read sideways...🙄
Kinda sheds a whole new light on the subject!
Thanks for pointing out my screw-up.

Hi John. If you intend to use a regulated supply after the "elyt-bank", you can cut even further in the capacitance. I wouldnt shy away from using only 4x10.000uf pr channel🙂Hence, the desire to use a very clean, regulated PS.
I recommend that you ask about this in the "powersupply-department" here on DIYaudio😉 I am sure someone overthere knows the answer to your question🙂I figure I can couple a positive and negative output lead to create ground/center. Hope this is correct.
