Thank you Nelson!
And to preempt the inevitable question on where to buy the 2SJ313, here is a source that I have used. He sells them at a very reasonable price but i think that you have to buy them in pairs (together with the n-channel).

From what I can see, Bdent has them as well.

probably should have matching p channels devices for the aleph input stage - can't tell if that source provides them in either polarity?

Is there a list in one of the threads containing info about fet equivalent / drop in replacements? (Upgrades) could not find this.
> However on these I decided to try my favorite small power Mosfets, the Toshiba 2SJ313's.
Have you tried 2SJ79's ? 🙂
Worthy of serious considerations.

Anyone have pcb layout to share? thanks Papa for mods
This will work -- Aleph through-hole PCB Set | Chipamp Electronics
When using irf9610's, do they need to be matched at 20mA?
No harm in using 2SC2240 instead of MPSA18?
(posted same question in other thread)

bumble bee
without looking further (having nerves only for my own pcbs ) - outputs need to be closer to the edge
Thank ZEN .
8mm is too much?
I will try to decrease without affecting the rail of the mosfet .
Best Regards

maybe turn the 2 matched SJ313's around so the they are back to back and thermally couple them together. or side by side so they can share a smal sink or a smal alu sheet.
Break the trace between GND and -IN, add pads for jumper.
Balanced input (XLR) needs that separated, but if the builder will use RCA exclusively, the jumper can be installed.
Can you also add pads/holes on the capacitors for 7.5mm and 5mm lead spacing?
