X i would suggest sprint for simple designs initially to learn the layout tricks. you will be amazed at how simple it is. within an hour or 2 , you will have your first design out😀.
I agree with rsavas completely, without linkage to schematics, one is prone to mistakes even for medium difficulty schematics.
To rsavas,
I did the FR100 layout using eagle cad, so also its crowbar protect😉

hi guys, is there anyone who has interests in building guitar combos, I am looking for good bass combo pcb layouts and schematics for DIY and even for guitars.
thanks in advance.
thanks in advance.
Looks good xrk971.
As you probably already know, drawing up a pcb with no linkage(netlist) to a schematic is very error prone, difficult and time consuming. Take your time and learn, go through the tutorials to use diptrace, you would be surprised at what you can do when you put your mind to it.
If everyone contributes and helps each other by sharing designs and libraries, it makes life so much easier. I think that is the idea of DIY, to share knowledge and learn how to design electronics. Let the computer do some of the tedious hard work.
I find it surprising and puzzling, that this thread being now at #2400 and still not one design done using any ecad. It is like I am in a time warp back to my early electronics days. Come on guys lets try to progress into the modern age.
Hi Rick,
I support you here with regards to diptrace 😉
X - it's officially free up to certain level of complexity, it allows creating your own parts very easily (that's what we normally do for some non-standard on-board plugs for example), it links your layout to schematic so that you have basically no room for error if your schematic is fine, it also makes sure certain pre-defined design rules are followed (pad sizes, trace spacings, etc.). Silk screen arrangement is also well-automated and convenient.
And then you can print, you can export gerbers or many other formats.
Very intuitive and easy to put your mind to it.
Just try it - in a week or so you will ask yourself: "How did I live without it?" 😕
If you will have questions, I'm sure - myself, Rick, Jeff and many others will share their experience 😎
Cheers,
Valery

When I plug the amplifier into the computer my ampli sound is noisy and air sound(without input signal)
but When the amplifier input jack is not connected to the computer my ampli sound is quiet and without noise
why?

check your GND's and also I believe that the input SGND need a GND from the supply voltage or either might be the PC integrated circuit is noisy and is injecting distortion to the amp that happened to me with an older PC I had that it was transferring noise to the amp also try an external source like a iPod or MP3 player

i connected ampli input jack to my mobile and i did not have any noise or air sound!
but when connected to my flash player my ampli sound was noisy

my flash player power supply is 12volt single(with lm7812)
can i connected (-)rail in flash player power supply to GND in ampli psu with any problem???

I built the Apex bass guitar amp. It is a nice piece of gear. When I get to my computer I will find it and post some links.

sound is excellent and very detailed
i used john bali version and 1k resistor instead 2k2
what is difference in ampli power or sound quality when i used 1k instead 2k2?
