Most studios buy Bryston for the warranty. Neither Bryston or Crown have anything to do with DIY. No studio is going to build their own amp. The SR200 sounds every bit as good as the formentioned amps.
What is amplifier's lower power supply voltage when this circuit used?
missed your post...if i remember correctly, mr. mile mentioned that it requires 10v of dc on the o/p to fire...

Capital did, well in 1968😉
Apex Sir,
Please let me know if the PSU for SR 200 will work fine with 55-0-55 , 10 amp , 1.5 kva transformer.

hi guys, I have a few questions on SR200,
1. Is there any need for a preamp on this amp, if so, which one is best?
2. does it require a fan?
3. what is the bias current?
or if you can refer me to any thread that can answer these questions.
kind regards.

Hello Miles.
I am having difficulty finding your pcb design for regulated PSu with protect, can you kindly guide me to it.

Hi All,
I've got 7 bare PCBs of the Apex P30ZF amplifier left over, designed by Alexmm. I'll let go a stereo set (2 PCBs) for 15$ plus shipping
They have plated through holes and white solder mask with black silkscreen. According to Miles it is his best preamplifier.
First come first served. Alex, I'm shipping you your PCBs, sorry for the wait.
Thanks

Hello mr miles.
Im trying to use this psu with 18v dc supply, and also wanting to use bd139/140 in place of 241/242. What needs to change in the circuit?
Thanks in advance

F5 headamp. The current draw is high
May be apex a class PSU for prwamps might be suitable.
Just search.

I found tip31/32, the regulator works but the v drop is too much. Input voltage 19v dc and max output 8v. How do i adjust the circuit to work with lower voltage?
i mean changing the circuit to work with a lower v transformer. something is not biasing properly or not turning on because i get 8v dc max on the output with only 1.5v ish adjustment range.
i changed the zeners to led and this allowed me to bring the voltage up to 9.5v.
still 7.5v dropout...
still 7.5v dropout...
