Phase Plugs in Sachiko
I just installed a pair of phase plugs from Planet 10 in my stock 206's, which reside in a pair of Sachikos. Boy do they work magic. A very worthwhile investment. My friend has the same speaker, but with the ESR driver. He is also considering intalling a set, but we were curious if anyone else with the Special Edition 206 has cut into them yet to install phase plugs? If so, what were the results?

Re: Phase Plugs in Sachiko
yes. The current plugs were developed 1st for the 206eSR because the 206 plugs he had were too short.

Elegant. 🙂
Re: Moose BVR
The design complements the other pieces very nicely. Well executed.
I prefer grilles to no grilles and think that it helps a build to 'blend'.
😉

A mooseBVR for the FE126 squeezed into a frugel-horn envelope. Scott figures it won't be up to the frugel-horn, but it looks like one and is a whole lot simplier to build. This is a minimalist version.

CarderSound Madisons aka Sachikos
Hello everyone! This weekend 6/7/08 I'll be receiving a pair of the Cardersound Madisons aka the Sachiko. http://cardersound.tech.officelive.com/default.aspx These are made under license and I want to say a BIG THANK YOU to ScottMoose for helping make this available to guys like me who being disabled aren't very DIY oriented!
I'll be using these with a Mastersound Reference 845 integrated SET that's 40W/ch, a BlueNote Stibbert CDP that's been tweaked by adding the incredible Sound Fusion anti-vibration columns. For wires I'm presently I'm using my friend's DIY IC's ---{these IC's replaced a pair of $1800 ICs}--- Nordost BlueHeaven speaker wire and Stealth Audio M-21 Super power cords.
Although they come stock with Fostex FE206E I have a pair of NIB Fostex FE206ESR and Fostex F200A I can try with them as well. I mentioned about getting these speakers earlier on DIYAUDIO but, now that they're less than a week away from delivery I'd appreciate any input on how I might improve & maximize their performance! TIA...

Re: Phase Plugs in Sachiko
Hello Cervelorider! As I posted earlier I'm getting a pair of Sachikos made by CarderSound and called Madisons.
You mentioned that you just installed a pair of phase plugs from Planet 10 in your stock 206's, which worked magic. Were can I get instructions on how to cut the driver and install the phase plugs? I believe I'd like to give them a try too.
When stock did you prefer the sound of your FE206E or your friends FE206ESR in the Sachikos? TIA.

Thank You Guys!
Thanks Alan & Scottmoose for your help and input! I don't know if I'll have the drivers EnABL(ed) yet. I have to read about what EnABL is and just what benefits I'm supposed to get from doing it!
I'm a bit surprised to see you here Alan. Perhaps I'm mistaken but from your posts in another thread I thought you leaned towards objectivism...

Re: Thank You Guys!
90% subjectivist! Still to do that infamous cable DBT.
EnABL is a truly weird driver treatment described by Bud Purvine. Worth investigating - be prepared for a long read!

A Picture Of The Sachiko I Had Built
I thought I'd upload a photo the CarderSound Madisons aka Sachiko that I had custom built for me. I think Jeff Carder did an outstanding job and the Rosewood finish is absolutely stunningly beautiful!
I'll be having about 8 people over my home in a small joint SETriodes Forum/ Central Florida Audio Society meeting to present the Madison's Florida debut!
I'm not DIY orientated so building them was out of the question for me but, after reading about them here and on Planet 10 as well as the Frugal Horn site I was smitten.
