BTW 6L6 where can I get the nice 'Diyaudio' sticker we can see on the chassis rear view?
Thanks

Hi,
I have the 4u chassis and would like a recommendation for the bridge rectifier. Maybe I'm not using the correct terms, but haven't been able to find a recommendation.
Thanks

Hi,
I am in the parts selection for a dual monoblocks build of this amp and I am using a CRC psu from prasi. This is the psu:
CRC Power Supply (Class A amplifier)
The current demanding per channel is 0,5a right? The psu has 4 cap spaces so im pointing for 33kuf each cap. 66kuf per rail. I think this is on the high side but want to know what you think.
This psu only has space for 2leg rectifiers to220 and 247. Would the mur860 do the trick?
What would you do if going to monoblocks?
Thank you
BR

Hi Joca, I'm planning a mono's build as well and am using 22KuF's, 4x per rail in total. I used the mur860 in my F5 build they work fine. So I think you're good.
Btw, what chassis are you planing on using, I'm still undecided?

The crc psu im using only has 2 caps per rail so I will have 66kuf per rail. In my f5 I have 4x15kuf per rail. You are going for 88kuf per rail. Maybe it's not a considerable difference.
im thinking of using the chassis from the F5 and adapt for a dual monoblocks. I have some iron covers and im going to duplicate the back panel from the hifi2000(modushop) to make the sides. The front plate will be some aluminum plate that I have around. This way, the heatsink will be on the back and the cables through the sides of the improvised back panels that fit the dissipante version of the hifi2000 4U chassis. What chassis are you looking at?

Do you think 35v capacitor on the psu is a no go? I have some with me but after reading about the psu safety rules (secondary voltage x 1.25) i am considering to buy a higher voltage rating caps. Maybe 50v? Don't know.

Vfet psu max voltage is ~ 28 V so 35 V is OK 🙂
Toroid secondary is 22V
Hi, I've gone for the 50V ones. I like some margine.
I was also thinking of modifying a Hifi2000 3U case. It will be a tight squeeze though. I will be mounting the PSU PCB on it's side to make everything fit.

hi
i have some toshiba 1530/201. i've them in my parts list just in case i decide to build some amps that need them. do you think it will add something to this build?
thank you

Thank you.
I have some L pattern bracket for the vfet interface to the aluminum heatsink. It is 60mmx60mm and has 5mm thickness. Do you think it will be a problem in terms of dissipation?

Iirc, the VFETs' legs are 12mm in length. So not only will 5mm for the bracket's thickness be fine, it's close to the thickest you'd wanna use anyhow.
