Yeah, ok...
I was just guessing, because the majority of the
r-cores, that you find are from china
Anyway i need find good source to buy psu transformers ??
This from Antek are classic in diy projects for many folks
nice quality and price ( mecha noise or not noise i don't know ? )
but i understand it's interesting to try r-core if much better parameters
not only on specyfication data papers marketing reason to ask higher price ???
Mono block amplifier are less sensitive on magnetic field
but i don't like mechanical xformer buzzzz

Soundhappy: I have used about 20 Antek xformers and none of them have ever buzzed or hummed. BTW, when are you going to post another audio comic strip? I hope you did not run out.
I have used Toroidy from Poland with no buzz problems ever.
They have Audio grade transformers with isolation shield between windings and will produce custom transformers at very reasonable prices.
Thoroughly recommended.

soundhappy,
toroidy seems to be the best recommendation for transformers in europe here in the forums. And the price is quite good as well!
I ordered a 600VA for a hotrodded F4 build, should be arriving soon and will give feedback!

Fantastic to receive response from Diyer with good experience about Antek's.
Comic strip pictures ? Yes with pleasure that 😀
Thx and best regards

Do Antek have more mechanical noise at work ?
Good price btw 55$
AN-5224 - 500VA 24V Transformer - AnTek Products Corp
My 400VA antek AS4218 transformer is dead silent.
I probably wouldn't risk getting an AN series one though some people have reported that they are noisy.
Stick with AS.

Cool 2PicoDumbs that mean we have few choices at resonable price and
appriopriate quality : Antek, Toroidy.PL and R-core from Selectronic.
R-cores are more pricey that others hope WalterW share us more informations
about how they work in his amplifiers

ps. Probably 500 VA they are plenty ?
Let's say 400 VA is ok too so Toroidy.PL audio grade xformer price is 54 €
TTSA0600 - Transformer AUDIO TSA600VA - voltage to 50V - Shop Toroidy.pl

You also get an electrostatic shield between primary and secondary windings and a magnetic shielded band around the perimeter of the transformer with AS series, definitely great value.Cool 2PicoDumbs that mean we have few choices at resonable price and

That magnetic shield band on the AS series is quite interesting and toroidy doesn't have that option. I remember seeing somewhere in the forum a member showing such a band to wrap around an existing transformer, but never found it again.

After Toroidy.PL parameters they have some too 🙂
Let's try all brands transformers

So that's the general idea. I thought these had knock-out bottoms, but I can't seem to knock them out... Anyways, either I ordered the wrong part or I will just trim the pins a bit.

Nobody used Talema here? It should be available in europe, i have always used this brand especially for ecapsulated model. Never have any any issue for mechanical or magnetical yet.

... or underneath, there is a flange of sorts that happens to fit right in the hole, they are just slightly pressed in.

Looks very nice.
I'd be interested in front end boards if they are separate to the output stage.

Working on the DIY version today. Looking good.
😎
Beautiful.
Any pictures.

That's the screen between primary and secondary, not the outside magnetic band screening.
Anyhow, toroidy has quite a reputation and should perform very well!

How good looking they are ? Thanks Papa oh yes picture please !
Guess we don't know all changes made in one pairs version 😀
Best regards

Thanks for discovering 🙂

I see steel can in ultimate hi-fi xformer version but it's cost more
