One of the main problems with the aftermarket LED lights is people put them in cars that don't have projector headlamps and with the different shape of the bulb and light emitting pattern, they turn their headlights and/or fog lights into floodlights. Ironically they often end up with not as much light on the road that way.
There was a trend for blue halogen bulbs, which filtered down the yellow. There was less noticeable 'substance' to the illumination.
LEDs are even more narrow band, nearer monochromatic. This is (poorly) compensated for with more output.
Taking a page from aquariums, plain LEDs are not sufficient for certain corals to grow. It is preferred to take a larger bite of the spectrum.

Be careful, many of the posts deal with the indoor (and at times illegal) cultivation of recreational greenery.
Some LED makers offer ready to use 3W and other packages, at times optimised for the leafing and flowering stages.
I have mixed red, green and blue LEDs to get the purple color needed for the succesful indoor cultivation of exotic salad items.

Just keep the wattage down. If suddenly your electric usage goes up by a large, constant amount they will send someone out with an IR camera to find out why. Images taken from the street are perfectly admissible (and sufficient for a warrant). Thats how you get caught.
I don't think they had infared cameras in the 1970s.
I'm hoping growing it becomes legal here. I have quite the green thumb. And buddha pops up in my garden every year, and I don't plant it. It pops up in my garden that borders the street. I'm pretty sure people are throwing seeds there.

75% red, 15% green, 10% blue LEDs worked for me, I modified a LED flood lamp from all white to colored 3W LEDs.
