I’ve read that it was all an act with Dean. Definitely some of his best work
It was, He NEVER drank booze during a performance. It was water or tea.
Or according to one Richard Francis Wright, often Mott’s apple juice. I was referring to the numerous and perhaps dubious reports one can dig up on the interwebs that suggest he was never more than a very light social imbiber - unlike other members of the quite appropriately named Rat Pack.
I have the full collection of the Dean Martin Celebrity roasts on DVD. I watched a few of them live (well... at the time of original broadcast), and I still watch many of them repeatedly for a good belly-laugh. I believe they're now also available on Amazon for streaming.
Dean was no teetotaler. Here's an interview from when he was 42.

I saw a video where he was stumbling, laughing, and fell off the podium. He looked totally sloshed to me; a real Boris Yelstin moment.
Pretty good acting.

Trivia question and I did not know the answer but it becomes clear when you hear it. You might even groan although this is correct and not a trick in any way.
What is the only element on the periodic table, when written in English, has two different and accepted spellings?

Galu, you have it. It’s the only element recognized by both spellings throughout the English written world.
I believe Sulfur is the only recognized spelling of Element 16.

Argh, aluminum grinds my gears.. and no, it isn't recognised here as far as I know.
Hey, there's a town in Oklahoma named Sulphur after the element.

Sulphur shows up in my British English dictionary. Sulfur seems to be used pretty much everywhere else.
Yes somehow I ended up with a collection of dictionaries! However I did loose my favorite from a flood following hurricane Ivan. I got it from my grandfather and it was really on the edge of what you could bind into a single book. The obscure definitions it included made for some fun writing. Expanded my ken.

Yes, the Oxford dictionary spelling is Sulphur.
I was reading the dictionary in bed last night, but I didn't finish it.
I got up to 'P'.

To avoid any spelling controversy, I refer to element 16 as brimstone!
