Well, so far my new interesting LED Lighter keeps glowing!
I have no idea what source of power it relies on.
Perhaps Atomic, perhaps GeoThermal...
A significant clue might be this Coffee Cup I picked up today:
Obviously a Scandinavian Language, and I can bluff my way round Norwegian and Swedish:
A place any sensible Englishman will avoid like the Plague:
North-West of Scotland.

Your trip will end in Vänersborg, Sweden ...
This is turning out to be one of my best Physics experiments!
5 hours down the road my freebie lighter is still Glowing!
I think it must have a Plutonium-239 power source!

Will it still be glowing tomorrow? Who knows! 😀

Could it be chemiluminescence?
Cute little carriage clock. Just fixed a couple, had to re-make one of the side glass pieces. 45 degree bevel, polished to optical. Twas funny, the retired mechanical engineer gave me a drawing of the piece needed, he went down to .001 inch on the measurements. This is turning out to be one of my best Physics experiments!

1 mil, really??
ps.. I cut the piece .002 undersized just to make sure it fit.

I used to have a friend who kept changing the sound that his alarm clock made.
I wonder what he's getting up to now?

I've been told elephants like to hide in trees. I'm thinking they're really good at it.
I would guess.... to pee.I used to have a friend who kept changing the sound that his alarm clock made.

I can always count on the guys here....
Flaps at 2, landing gear down...career runway lights in sight....
not sure when I will retire, but it's not far...
spending way too much time trying to convince higher ups to hire people to train to do what I know.

ps.. writing a "lessons learned book" on what I've had to deal with. Fun, it is really weird being in the cat-bird seat despite not wanting it.
Will give a lab-wide (maybe DOE wide but who cares) presentation next month, on topics they really need to know..
ps.. brought in my qsc-1450 and 4 bass shakers for a run on fixing earth vibration problems with rush hour traffic earth vibration stuff with the beam. Granted, I barely survived carrying that 43 lb amp with 15 lb case. gravity is a b###ch.
I suspect that the inductance of the bass shakers is going to destroy the bode plot/ phase margin of the PID loop for ground movement control. We'll see.
I suspect I will have to design a linear transducer with minimal phase shift to support the effort. Who knows...
