Something to lighten the mood

Seriously Cal, if you have ever eaten dove and pigeon you would know the Pigeons are way bigger.

From my Mom's cookbook:
7.2.1 Old Maria’s Doves (Spanish Recipe)

3 chopped onions about a dozen doves
1 tsp peppercorns 1 cup white wine
1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce 1 bay leaf

Stew giblets, brown chopped onions slowly in bacon grease. Add salted doves and brase lightly. Add other ingredients and cook over low heat 45 minutes. Burn 2 Tbsp sugar and liquefy with broth from stewed giblets. Add with giblets to the birds. Place in a covered baking dish and bake at 350 deg 1-1/2 hours. To serve, remove birds from pan, siev the gravy and thicken just a little with flour.

The thing about free roaming chickens is that it's preferable to know where they've been before going down the hatch. Same goes for pigeons.😎

After nearly 1000miles (1600km) yesterday we returned with 15 Greyhounds from a track in Florida. Up at 2am, then drove to a point just south of Valdosta, GA, met the hauler and returned to Nashville in one very long day.
A few photos of those lucky Greyhounds.

Whoa, imagine owning one and you are out for a leisurely walk in the yard and it sees a rabbit in the garden!

The instinct to chase a moving object is imprinted on their DNA. 4000 plus years as a breed gives them somewhat of edge when it comes to running. Not the fastest mammal on the planet, but definitely in the top ten.

My wife and I were walking a very first Greyhound, a little brindle girl of about 65lb (30kg) in a local park. My wife had the lead at that moment, and a rabbit appeared about 50 yards (45m) away. My wife could barely keep her feet under her body. A Greyhound reaches their top speed in 5-7 strides. Even though we have lots of trees in our back yard, squirrels sometimes fall prey to our hounds.

Cal I work in the location sound industry, for video and film production. "drpro" is a contraction of my one man company name.
