The fact that there’s a highway to hell and only a stairway to heaven gives me a hint about expected traffic volumes.
I went to a nice French restaurant the other day.
When the waiter came along I asked him what was the soup du jour?
He said soup of the day, stupid.

Cal, Cal, Cal!!
The proper telling of that joke, is longer. So the audience is forced to wait longer before the stupid punchline.
Man goes into a restaurant
Looks at the menu.
Waiter comes over, man says:
"What's the Soup du Jour?"
Waiter replies: "I'll have to ask the chef"
After a minute the waiter returns, says:
"That's the soup of the day."

How about with a French accent? "Zat is zee soup of zee day, you eejiot."
I visited Paris, and that attitude would not be out of place. Especially from the shopkeeper downstairs from our flat. Ordering coffee and a bun in the morning was an uncomfortable experience. 😀
