I once worked on a project that was supervised by someone who was qualified to supervise street maintenance crews. The original budget was $250M. It came in at $480M. A similar project after that was budgeted at $300M it was supervised by an experienced professional. It came in at $280M!

I have also seen the street painted direction of “SOTP.”
 
I remember diving for the eject button as soon as the audio started to sound off, hoping to catch it before it ate too much of the tape.

On a side note I used to cut tapes down to the size of the album I was copying. I'd record the longest side first, cut the tape snap it into the wheel and record the shorter side.
I also remember spicing the tape in an 8-track back together that got eaten, but my Dad was worried it might mess something up so he didn't use it...
