Smaller Leach Amp V1

Hi Tony

I have often though about DIYing a heatsink such as the one you have described as the selection we have in our country is absolutly pitifull. However I am a little unsure of the effeciency of heat transfer through the joins of one of the sinks.

Have you ever done one before. Did it work well? What mechanism are you going to use to attach the Alluminium strip to the plate? Silicon Paste & Bolts?

I assume by Ga16 Aluminium Plates Bent into L's you are meaning extruded L Profile aluminium strips with a thickness of 1.6mm.

Any Pics?

it costs me three times that amount to get the boards to my place!

hi tony,

pretty expensive huh... but the way it looks is still
ok for that amount....

heatsinks are still my problem til this time...

I've tried to email DAU England flatback extrutruded heatsinks and they
are worth GBP 10.00 each for every ten pcs. to high for a diyer....

hi jacco:

a dollar $ = more or less P 55.00 (Philippine pesos),

sometimes making us difficult to acquire components for our projects,

and one more thing, we suffer a lot of fakes here, envoking us to

save and buy the needed components abroad.....

:whazzat:

inspite of these physcal crisis, we enjoy diy-ing.

conrad engineering in australia is closer to manila and prices are the best anywhere imho....

i would love to order my heatsinks from them except that i will have to put out cash in one go...diy allows me to spend when i have the money and at my own pace.

anyway, there are metal shops in manila that retails aluminum plates, yes, you can order them cut to size!

i have done my chasiss all aluminum that way!

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

OK Guys,

I've pretty much finished my KSA 50 so I am ready to start ordering the parts for this project. Has anyone worked out the values for the "to be determined" resistors on the BOM? I don't have a clue how to go about calculating them.

If it's any help, I am planning on using 64V rails.

Thanks, Terry

Just wandering if someone can help me with a slight problem with the leach amps. I bought some boards from the gb and was wandering if anuone knows how to make them more sensitive on the input side of things? I have the original leach/super leach amps at the moment, but the problem i am having is that i need 2.5v rms input to give me max output at 8 ohms before clipping occurs and my cd player(2 of them) are only putting out approx 1.6v rms of clean signal. I can turn the volume to max but the output is not enough. Maybe i should add a line driver?? Dont really want to add anything else in the signal path though. Please help if you can.

Resistor hunt

Hi guys,
I have a pretty reality question to ask you, does someone have a
good spot to find the 1% 0.5W resistors? The resistors are close
to each other on the board, so sticking with the dimensions in the BOM is
a must. Only found distributors selling reel, well you know, 3000 units is a bit
more than what I need :-D.

Any help is welcome.

tony: very nice work😉

actually I've done PCB designs my self

but with the conventional cheap way. thank God t'was successful.

I've even tried tweaking with this amp utilizing all NPN outputs, using

+/- 70vdc rails, 8 pcs. of MJL21196 per channel, still with good sonic

results.

BTW what ouput devices are you using with yours?
