I think I remember asking the same thing. If I recall correctly he was just swapping devices to see if there was a measurable difference. There is a Kypton-V 1.2. It shows BC550 for both.
So senility vs dementia has won after all.

Thanks for saving me from a cranial examination.

I am getting too old and I "Think" I have missed something along the way.
For the Kypton v 1.1 is showing Q1 is a 2SA1360 and Q2 is a 2SC3423. Is that correct or the BC 550 and 560 not as good?
Thanks for any direction or correction...
(Below) is the last kypton-V thimios tested perfectly.
And (below 2) is the spooky V2.
I will devote my time to only 3 designs , the new spooky / symasui /
and kypton ND. They are the highlights of these designs.

Can you telt a bit the difference in sound quality and technical how do a spooky vas stage compared to leach amp?
Thanks

If you are referring to the original leach , we have much better silicon
plus the symetri or hawksford VAS makes for X10 performance.
No servo on the original leach , we are more similar to the 2K$ H/K990.

What abort the difference compared to the vas stage in kypton ND?
I just built Spooky ips and now you release V2. Now I feel outdated. 😛
What changes has been made to V2? Does it sound different?

V2 has a different VAS. It might? "measure" differently but I would bet it "sounds" identically.
What is the difference between the super vas in kypton ND and the way the vas stage is built in spooky V2?
Lower distortion? Different frequenci curve? PSSR?
Thanks

What they have in common ...
They are both quite linear and clip perfectly.
The ND super-pair is also beta enhanced , no load on the previous stage.
I am a little wary of using it on the spook , which has higher gain than
the CFA. The super pair will actually show it's pole at @ 40mhx on a bode
plot .... but the CFA is 30db below unity gain at that point.
Also , most output stage Ft is below that.
So the ND super-pair VAS should be cautiously used (with the right
transconductance stage).

Os, you could try some isolation (base stopper) at the superpair input, or, even better a low pass filter to avoid this ? (Like I did on my diamond, for the same reason: I was always afraid by the super pairs because of this). The super pair will actually show it's pole at @ 40mhx on a bode plot ....
A whole bunch of people are about to receive boards. It would be cool to have a build thread for KND, Spooky, and 5 pr. OPS. Is it a dumb idea (for some reason) to use a single Sanken MT200 pair? Seems like it would provide quite a bit of power, with the possibility of adding 2 more pairs down the road. Thanks!
Hey guys!
Other DIY-ers redirected me with my problem to you guys!
I am about to buy an ATC speaker, which will need an amplifier.
Since I will use it professionally for mixing, I'll need a really transparent, accurate amp.
More info can be found in my thread here.
If you guys could suggest me really transparent designs, that would be great, since I do not know amplifiers so well as you guys do!
Thanks for the help:

Sebastian,
The slewmaster series are very nice amps. The builds do not require hard to get parts. These are not kits....You will need to do some reading and follow the schematics. We are currently sending out boards contact me via private mail and we can work out getting a set sent to you.
