SPOOKY LEACH

Hi ostripper
greetings have finished the spooky leach amp is there any test
point voltages so i can measure to be sure everything is correct
playing it at low voltage +/- 30 dc sound is very clear
warm regards
Andrew

TTC004B,Q PNP 160V 12pf Cob 120mhz.

TTC004B = NPN 160V

OR , KSA1220A pnp - KSC2690A npn - also these are 160V. Only for 60-65V rails. NO higher. You could run MJE 340/350 , but with reduced performance.

This is why I am running away from through-hole parts.

EDIT - I am converting for all VAS/predrivers (1A devices) to SOT223 ZTX957 pnp / 857 - npn These would work in any of my designs.

TTA004 is the PNP
TTC004 is the NPN.

I am sorry , mouser listed both as TTA's I should of looked right at the datasheets. I need a break. They are at a good price , and a new product. At 160V , they would do most of the forum's VAS's.

OK, I wish someone would give a short course in SMD. The glue/resin used to glue the parts down on the pads and the optimum temp if I use a toaster oven to solder. How long to bake??? I assume boards are reflowed so no additional solder is needed??? Sorry but I'm 71 and my hands aren't steady to hand solder SMD. They are just too small. Also like in a diff amp or a current mirror you can't glue the flat sides of the transistors together as in TO92 to make a matched pair to prevent thermal drift. I guess one could glue a piece of aluminum across to each. Thanks, Ray

The glue is used to hold the smd in place for a wave solder operation. usually in a mix technology design where you have smd on the bottom and THT on the top.
I have done my fair share of smt, I have never had to resort to IR re-flow for my proto's, all done by hand, even DFN/QFN. It does require a steady hand. You do need a hot air station to remove DFN/QFN however.
screen/paste/reflow is geared for bigger runs, production. I call it cookie cutter production. Some people swear by it, everything has its place imo.
Also like in a diff amp or a current mirror you can't glue the flat sides of the transistors together as in TO92 to make a matched pair to prevent thermal drift.
But we have many more options for dual's in smt, which is even better than your method.
I was looking at them yesterday, Diodes Inc makes the DMMT5401/5551 which are perfect, SOT-26 is a smt user friendly package vs a SOT-363 for example.
