The proof of the pudding is in the eating. 🙂
I expect to get some pudding. 🙂

I am not any kind of supporter of Mr Ciuffolli, I follow only my listening experience.
During perfectioning of audio system, I became less critical to many "technical nonsences". Above definite audio system level, one understands more and more, that measurement results mean less and less, and more attention is given to parts selection and "snake oil" things. This is sad, because is subjective. But, this is possibly a reason, why so many people continue their personal "gold mining".
Sorry Dennis I couldn't help it.
Hi Nelson,
I have a couple of THF51S and 2sk180s - is there any guidance as to P channel mosfets that have similar thresholds that enable matching to these SITs?
many thanks

The big problem is finding a part whose enhancement mode Gate voltage
is matched to the opposite Gate voltage of the depletion mode part
at the desired current, temperature, and supply voltage.
Some of the SIT-1 transistors can be matched against some of the
P channel Mosfets of several different part numbers. For consistency,
each pair of channels uses the same devices.
After that, you have to consider whether to apply degeneration to the
Mosfets to get a consistent transconductance for the pair.
It takes a large population of parts and a lot of time.

Commentaries please about other SIT-3 prototype ? First was with CCS I guess.
What is audio performance with optocoupler inside the circuit?
TH= one thyristor ?

Is there a Mouser or Digikey part number? I am new to amp building and new here so I have not seen a BOM with the actual part number. Same for the thermo part in series with the power transformer primary.
This one for example can do the job in PSU :

Sorry for my dumb question - which Tokin part can work with SIT3 is it THF-51S or 2SK182E?
THF-51S, it is working fine on my bench.
It does match with lateral mosfet.
Cheers and have fun with your iron

Haven’t tried the 2SK182E yet, unable to comment, other builders would help.
You need to have a curve tracer to work it out the Vgs for matching purpose.
Cheers
NB: only the output stage reflected the Pass design, input is a 1:10 step up transformer from 50VA 240V/24V.

@ MossFed
Thanks for interesting video🙂
Salut Soundhappy,
Glad that you like it.
Who dares to switch off bias supply while the SIT is under voltage potential?
Cheers
