OH....M2 R.2/SET boards as well? (must build quicker) when SIT R3 are available, I may as well save shipping.
You should offer subscriptions...various levels so many boards annually. Then I only need links here, Mouser and bank LOL. What a year for new stuff! how much better can it get for DIY?

luckily, I made a list of amps in work, or I would be lost ( well, even more than usual )
though, having a look at Papa's supersecret organized permutations table(s!)** of possible constructions, where he marked interesting ones, I'm reminding my self that I'm still wearing Spielhosen .....

**I tried to catch some understanding of them, but no go

Spielhosen eh? I don't see that in Group Buy forum either. Will they be available in US sizing?
nope
ZM too much liking Spielhosen, keeping them all for my daily rummaging through OPLDF

totally agree! Subscription - I cannot follow anymore. Too many projects😀
Hi Zen Mod,
I'm in the process of selecting parts for SissySIT R.3 ...
In my SissySIT R.1 I had for the big shifter capacitor (C11 then, C106/206 in R.3) a Silmic II with 3300 uF / 10 V.
That worked without problems because the cap only saw about 2.5 V across it.
With R.3, I would guess 10V rating would be too close, correct ?
Because now, because of the level shifter mechanism, we have about 8-9 V across the cap, if I understood your explanation correctly ...
In that case, I would probably look for a Panasonic FC 3300 uF 16 V ...
By the way, what's the lead spacing on C106 and what on C107/C108 ?
Thanks in advance,
Claas

10V cap there should work, bur good engineering praxis is to use 16V
heck, guys at MX2 thread use 50V cap there, trench-defending their choice, so we beginners are free to choose as wussies, looking in da wallet
C106 - 5/13mm
C107/108 - 3.5/8mm
pitch/Dia

The more I read on this forum, the greedier I seem to get.
So far my insurance against not having a golden ticket in part II amounts to a pair of one SIT type and a quad of another, from Tomo.
Based on the hints from Nelson I thought that should be plenty.
Now I'm not so sure. 🙂
Having too many amps seems to be par for the course; having too many SIT amps might be considered a bit extravagant, selfish even?

davidjt,
Welcome to the club. I think your in a good shape with the SITs you have. The SissySIT is a great amp. I love mine and the next in the cue for me will be the Singing Bush. I would have already pulled the trigger but a pair of SS magically came into my possession thanks the codyt and NP.
Just remember you can’t have to many amps.

that's normal thinking, in the beginning
it'll pass (pun intended 🙂 ) soon, you'll not waste time thinking about number of amps

...... besides, there is always some fun in choice ..... making elegant, simple, nice sounding Papamp......... or overcomplicated, with overpopulated pcb, nice sounding ZM's concoction

Much the same here, the lottery brought these amps into my eyeline and I now have a pair of 2SK180 for Ben Mah's follower, a pair of THF51S for a SissySIT and a pair of Sony 2SK60 as contingency for building a variant of the lottery amp if my name is left in the hat during round 2.
I have no idea where I'm going to find the time (and money!) to build these and all the other projects I have lined up and be able to actually sit down and enjoy some music through them!
Not sure if this is the best place to put this but since pras1704 has not been brought up on this thread I will do it.
Just got a pair of THF51 in the mail today - took about three weeks to get here. (Atlanta, Georgia)
As expected they arrived in perfect condi8tion with the mounting stuff included.
pras1704 is among the top tier of parts sellers in my most unhumble opinion.

It's worth restating though ZM, given the interest in SITs resulting from the lottery amp exercise - that's where my interest has come from and I have a lot to learn and finding a reputable seller was definitely a help. I've also recently purchased a couple of pairs of devices from Pras.
Anyway, what's happening with SissySIT R3?

ZM's plate full
in fact , plate over plate over plate
writing every second day that I'll soon post Trade thread, but nada ....... still tightening some loose ends, other area of my activities
so, lets's just say - up to next weekend, will post everything about kits for recent amps
