I'm disappointed and frustrated! ☹️
I had planned to get my SissySIT up and running this weekend but I had a bad fall on Thursday and my right hand is out of action for a while. Fortunately I am left-handed so can cope with things like getting food but no chance of doing anything on the workbench, though it also means I avoid some chores too!

Bad luck Ray, get well soon. I hope to retrofit my R3 boards into one of my existing amps During a week off after Christmas.
Frustratingly, my SissySIT project is still parked because my shoulder is still sore so I'm still unable to progress the metalwork element of the build. I'm doing light duties on other projects instead. Hopefully I'll be mended soon.

Take care of that shoulder - as we get older injuries have a tendency to hang on
Best

Thanks chaps, your sentiments are appreciated.
I've been doing a little preparation work on my Ben Mah 25W 2SK180 SIT follower this afternoon. The pins on these big SITs are hard to solder - I cleaned them first but they seem to take a lot of heat from the iron - are there any tricks of the trade?

I bought a pair of THF51S's on a whim recently, have become interested in VFETs and the Sony's seem to be impossible to find.
So what to do with them? Sissysit looks like the answer.
But I don't need that much power. Was wondering if I could bias lower than the 1A7? Drawbacks?
I have a 4u chassis to install this in.
Thanks
Randy

OK, so 60w or a little less.say that 1A2 is lowest figure, just to keep that big bastard warm
same rails
Guess I can work with that.
Thanks
Randy
It's a great amp IMO and worth the effort. Good enough that I don't have much incentive to change it out. Despite a variety of other good amp modules (and a VFET lottery amp) I have laying around here that could be dropped back in, and parts / pcb's to build even more variations.
