Dangerous thinking - double the trouble or double the pleasure?
So, I've got drivers, got the wood (not cut yet) and I'm thinking -
Why not build a (mirrored) double SS15?
After all, most of us will always use them in pairs!
They will still be much lighter than the average bear...
These tapped horns seem to work particularly well on their longest side, bottom to bottom.
If you share bottoms, do you actually need a divider between the two SS15 halves?
(Or just bracing?)
Most dual boxes tend to be smaller than a pair of singles, would this also make a worthwhile difference here?
Regards, Ben

A box double the size of a SS15 could take advantage of a longer path length and the additional enclosed volume, thus lowering the cutoff frequency. It would require different folds, it would be a different design entirely.
Simply doubling the SS15 width won't result in a lower cutoff frequency, it will just make for a box twice the size and weight, less the weight of one, or even two side panels.
Nothing wrong with that, but it would then be a big box, loosing one advantage most see in the SS15 design.

It's looking that way. 🙂
Had the camera out today while finishing up my first 2 SS15 (other 2 only needs paint to be finished). My first build 🙂
First 2 boxes done and testet .. Only thing missing is the connectror plate on the back, but it's on it's way (just needs powdercoating)
Nice little stack. In the future i will be building my own tops also, but for now, this actually works out very well.
Me trying to be "camera-creative" .. The grills really gives the finishing touch!
Almost forgot .. Build pic!
They will be powered by a 4-channel MC2. Delivering 750W into each cab (love headroom!). Had a quick try today, but my nabours didn't fancy loud music and especially not for a long time, so didn't get the chance to crank them up to max volume. BUT i was impressed by what i heard. Very clean and tight bass. Really looking forward to next weekend where they will be doing their first job!
An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

You guys are artists!
Designers, testers, modifiers and the builders - nice work!
I will do my best to achieve your benchmarks, but it's not going to be easy.
I hope this thread (or maybe a "best of" compilation) gets stickied, it's a great resource!
Have a good Sunday evening!
Ben

Very nice indeed and a serious E475 to use your SS15's to their full potential, bravo! They will be powered by a 4-channel MC2. Delivering 750W into each cab (love headroom!).
So looking around at the 3015LF prices.
B&H still list it at 179.99. 215 on Amazon. PE at US at 315. BUT the PE Catalog still list it at 179.99. Not sure if that matters ...

Looks like they don't stock it:

Hey all - got off the phone with a sales rep at Guitar Center. Their website displays $179.99 for the 3015LF, they are out of stock til May 5th-ish and the rep said they'll honor that price, as paid, even if their cost goes up. Free shipping to your nearest Guitar Center!
I called b And h today to ask about shipping info on my speaker I ordered two days ago and they told me they couldn't get me that info, And it USUALLY ships in 7-10days. WTF!!
Chaps that grill looks really nice in there. Where did you get it from?
They are from www.speakergrills.com .. Can only recommend him. Quick respons and great service. They had to be shipped from England to Denmark, but i had them within a week from order-date. I were quite impressed by that.
