That's not all about what you enjoy more, Peter.

I think that Peter is regreted from his impulsive posts that originated all this.
If we had the chance to apologise and delete our own posts, or mark them with a red colour with the words "forget it, I was mad" maby this thing would not happen so many times.😀

Even as an infrequent visitor to these forums it is easy to distinguish members who know something about electronics and circuit physics from those who can only re-invent the National Semiconductor wheel, slap it in a sexy box and stamp "guru" on their forehead (you know who you are...).
I honestly think some engineering savvy is essential for a moderator. Misguided, egomaniacal enthusiasm and hours spent crawling the forums shouldn't count for squat. Or at least there should be some impartial, educated super-moderator(s) to moderate those *other* moderators whose children are allegedly better PCB designers than Fred...
I've had plenty to say on past occasions and received much derision and critique, often deserved. And plenty other members get into virtual fisticuffs in the pages of these forums. But usually the "crime" is observable to even the uninitiated. Of late the stuff getting relegated to "Texas" hardly qualifies , by those standards.
so come clean Mods, what's up? Taking care of your own as many suspect?

Hahahaha! Very good, Frank!

What happened to valueable diyaudio member Fred ?
did the shamless and incompetent moderator gang scare him away?
May this be the time for some more of those mentaly overcharged mods to resign?

We best run with with this one till they get us.

While I also wonder why Freds thread was moved to Texas
and question it, please do not extrapolate this to moderator
practices in general. I think the mods are generally doing a
good job, epsecially considering what they are paid (ie. what
they aren't paid). As I said before, if threads were routinely
moved to Texas on such loose indications as seems to be
the case here, then Texas would be overcrowded, which is
obviously isn't.
I enjoyed some of the recent jokes though, takes just as
jokes.

True. But some "moderators" appear to be "instigators" (I am SO tempted to say "masturbators" but I just know I'll go to Texas or hell if I do...), "self-inflaters", "denegrators" or "copulators"... Hellooo Texas!
And my question is who chooses them? Surely other moderators? Therefore a measure of shared responsibility must exist, Pinkmouse. And we'd like those moderate moderators (the mod squad) to demoderate the immoderate moderators (the sod squad).
Thank you. And goodbye I'm sure... Guess I'll be changing my name to Bin Here or Has Bin or perhaps Bin Nice Knowing You

Now read that again and ask yourself what you did write down.
Ok, lets try and answer some of the things that have come up recently, from my perspective anyway...😉
Firstly, I have not been around as much as I would have liked over the past year or so, personal circumstances have meant that I am only really around on diyAudio at weekends.
Firstly, your question about who "mods the mods". The fact is, we all do. We have some very strong opinions presented in our debates backstage, and unless an infringement of a rule requires either immediate, or just minor action, every decision usually involves a concensus of least two or three opinions. Likewise, postings by mods, even if posted only as members, sometimes come in for criticism by other mods if we feel the tone or content is inapproprate. In fact, we are harsher on ourselves than we are on normal members.
As for the commercial interests that some mods have, if I thought for one moment that this would affect their abilities to moderate fairly, I would say so, here and now, but I do not. The amount of money to be made out of playing on a moderators supposed status to gain sales I suspect is insignificant.
However, I do feel that certain old animosities have been used to unfairly pressure some members of the Moderation team. Maybe as a result of those pressures certain things have been said that shouldn't, and maybe if I had been around more, such "debates" could have been turned into more productive discussions, so on that aspect I accept any blame you choose to direct at me. 🙂

If Fred asked me, I would certainly bring it up for debate with the other mods, but as he has retired from diyAudio for a while, I don't think it is appropriate.
