Little bit late to the party. I have a dum question. Isn’t the silent switcher designed for autoranger II? The new batch doesn’t seem to be compatible with ARII’s case.

Jan knows more about the history but even the original SilentSwitcher was supposed to be used independently as well. USB-C has become universal port for e.g. chargers and is required for USB PD so sticking with the original format would have crippled the design. Do you need a SilentSwitcher for Autoranger?

Yah. The ARII I bought recently got a SMPS board that has the print “USSR MK5” on it, that’s not the silentswitcher is it? I got some 50hz mains noise.

That is actually a variation of SilentSwitcher I made. It has LT3045/94 regulators and should have lower noise than the original. Mains noise is often caused by ground loops.

Yesterday I received half a dozen prototypes, and they all checked out well.
So the production run is a go.
Expect to start delivering mid October, I'll be back with practical arrangements.

It's pretty cool that all of the semiconductor devices with >6 pins, are protected against alpha particle strikes using a blue-green polyimide tape (link) .

Not final, I still have to do some calculations, but it will probably be around the 75 euro point.
I am working out shipping with T&T.
I expect that to be below 15 euro worldwide for 1 or 2 units, with T&T,
So, compared to the original unit, the price to your doorstep will be a bit lower in most cases.

I should also mention that the output power will be roughly double that of the original unit, when you use a Power-Delivery capable power bank or source.
The next weeks I will write the user guide and spec sheet.
