Today I realized why my CD`s are always sliding when Shiga starts reading or change speed, the Puck is not straight,it is touching the CD only on the inner Side. It`s a bit more than 0,1mm I think, what fits under it.Any Idea?
Regards DT
Adjust inner puck with a fine sandpaper and will fit perfectly.

where can I solder LT1086 direkt,is there a Plan somewhere, got rid of some Pads on PCB.
Regards DT
Where do you want to solder LT1086 ?
If is LT1086-adj than you have separate pads on power supply.
If is LT1086-5 than you can solder on V1 and V2.
Regards,
Tibi
It is 1086-adj and some Contact Pads are gone from desoldering LM317 -adj.
Post pictures to see what you did, of follow traces with a multimeter and solder to nearest points.

Tibi

Regards DT

has anybody tried the silver mica caps being sold here: capacitor_film_smica.html
They're much cheaper than the dubilier.
They're much cheaper than the dubilier.
Hi all,
Is there any consensus about what to do regarding the trimmer on the laser head? By-pass cap, fixed resistor?
Tibi, Dimitri?
Use only a 100pF silver mica.

They're much cheaper than the dubilier.
Because there is a difference between Suntan and Cornell Dubilier.

So get rid of the trimmer?Use only a 100pF silver mica.

So get rid of the trimmer?
No, jut add 100pF across.
This was discussed in this very thread which worth a full read.

In case XO tentlab is on board:
on the schematics, for C59 it is indicated 10nF NPO (1nF Silver Mica). Would a 1nF silver mica be better than 10nF silver mica here? Or was it a print mistake?
If you are going to use a MLCC, use 10nF NPO.
If you are going to use silver mica, use 1nF.
