and finally the left side of panel:

Notice that the power connector is only one pin and not the four pin connector like in a previous post somewhere.

Now, it doesn't look like a 1750 as from what I can tell from the back sticker (what's left of it) it looks like the model ends in a double zero.

Also you can see that the adapter model is ADP-0042.

And the connectors on the right side are only a serial port, monitor out, and computer in.

I measured the diagonal lengths of the screen and the viewable part is a little over 8.5" while the measurement with the black border included is around 10.5" or a little over that.

Given these details, what panels fit this?

(as for how much I paid for it, let's just say I paid less than what the winner did, but not by much 😛)

I did a search for "QA1200" at partsolver.com and got this:

http://www.partsolver.com/SearchRes...81&ModelNumber=qa1200&ModelID=53738&Keywords=

It shows the correct power supply, and since the last two digits on the panel's plate aren't completely scratched off (and I'd bet money they were '00'), I'd say it's a QA-1200.

The only reason I can think that someone did that to this panel was to misrepresent it and cheat someone. Boy, some people! Talk about LOW. 😡

I'll try taking a pic and posting it when I get home. I'll take the measurements too.

Here's the link to the panel that was on auction. The winner there is not me. I had contacted the seller with some questions while the auction was in progress and later, after the auction was completed, he offered me the panel since the winner of the auction said he was bidding on the wrong item and wouldn't pay for it.

OMG!!!! im at a loss for words....PLEASE tell me you didnt pay 525$$ for that panel even the 2500 isnt worth THAT much! lol i belive you've been screwed buddy. why would he scratch it....
well to really see if its the 2500 try going to its maximum resolution. i think you could of gotten a better deal with a brand new LCD Moniror with higher res... but as long as you like it..😀 😀 😀 😀

Uh oh!

i just looked at my adapter and it says ADP 0042!! i have a 1200..i HOPE you can get your money back he screwed you! OR maybe they have the same adapter...

***EDIT*** im sorry no i dont think yours is a 1200 the sides dont look alike mine has composite RCA and onboard sound***

Man, I didn't think that figuring out what this is would be so difficult. Ok, so it's not a 1200 nor any model that ends in xx50. I guess that's what I've got so far.

Is it definitely not a 2500?

Anyone have any advice on what to do?
I've already emailed the guy back but have not had any response yet. I do think that I have his home address which was left there from some previous item he received and just taped over it.

I didn't buy it from him directly through ebay but did pay via credit card on paypal. Man, I can't believe this!

I don't know what authorities to contact that can handle this sort of thing. I guess it constitutes fraud or something (assuming this is NOT a 2500, is it?). Ugh, what a nightmare.

I do appreciate you guys helping me out thus far. I wish Sharp still had pics and specs on these items.

(And the unit doesn't even seem to work. when I connect it to my video card, the lcd displays a bunch of garbled mess on computer boot up. When it actually gets into windows, the signal cuts off all together, regardless of what resolution and refresh rate I try. But that's all beside the point right now and I'll cross that bridge when and if I get to it.)

here is what a QA-2500 looks like. notice the big button on lower right corner. lcd screen is about 10.4 -11.0 in. diagonal, not counting the black border around lcd. looks like you got ripped off. you can go through paypal under misrepresented item, but it's not always a sure thing. going thru ebay gives you more protection in fraud reporting/ recovery. a little heads up for next time.

Thanks for the pics abalone! I really needed to see for myself what the 2500 was supposed to look like so I could confirm that what I got was NOT a 2500.

I'll try contacting paypal to see if they can do anything about it. If not, I'll try contacting the local police next to see if they can point me in the right direction where to go. If nothing else, I have an address to go on. Hopefully it's still valid.

You guys are great. Thanks for the help everyone!

I'm just taking the opportunity to drone about one consequence of this very succesful forum, and the prevalence of the Ebay fresnel auctions: now there is a market (and uninformed) looking for panels. again, research research , research!! it may take a couple of hours going through all the motions, but it's better than getting fleeced. also a heads up on escalating auction prices for lcd panels. this may lead to more fraud auctions so be careful.

Thanks Negative Design,

I had considered doing that at one time, but I feared that even a 14" monitor may be too big to use on an overhead projector to be able to fit the whole image. Is that not the case?

Also, I'm not sure how I would splice up the inputs to be able to connect a dvd player or a playstation to a lcd monitor anyway.
I think it would first need some kind of vga converter.

Anyway, I've submitted a complaint to paypal, and I finally got a response back from the seller asking why I did this (yeah, strange). So hopefully I can get somewhere with him now.

i havent tried that monitor i **THINK** it will fit on an OHP, i dont know anything about that panel but its CHEAP! if i knew about it earlier i probably would of got one.

even if you buy a cheap converter the price will still be SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper than the panel you bought. if your not sure about buying a monitor please dont, i dont want to mess up your project and blame it on me 😀 lol.

You should press charges on that guy!! hopefully he'll get the chair😉 lol

Could anyone post some more detailed pics of the 2500? Particularly of the front (with the Sharp QA-2500 label showing legibly) and the sides with the I/O connectors and power.

The seller responded back insisting that the panel he sent me is a 2500. I want to be able to show him clear proof in no uncertain way what a 2500 looks like and that what I have isn't it.

Thanks.
