manual copies
hey guys, i'd be glad to make copies of that manual, but i doubt i can do it for anywhere near $9 just because of my time etc... so if you have the means to order it thru that place, that would probably be your best bet... if you still need my help lemme know (via email would be best).

dnarby said:Thanks Mario, but that's for a sharp 1650. There's no guarantee it'll work for a 2500.
I personally built mine from those. Although I didn't have a 1650.I have a QA-1500 and QA-1100 which the cable works well with. Maybe DMOFITT could verify quickly that the pin outs are the same.

Yeah, you would think that at least one of the other 2500 owners with manuals would verify something, wouldn't you - but It seems like they can't be bothered...
You've made tons more effort than any of them and you don't even own one!!!
This site is re-defining 'do it yourself' 😡

What a find! I had no idea you could still buy the manual... and for so cheap. Thanks DNarby!
I'm not at all surprised about the high prices on the accessories. I've run into that for the other panels I've owned as well... the only answer is to fabricate them or pick up the parts used.

Anthony,
Do you have a working remote? Because if you do, I may well buy one of those 'learning' remotes, and if you're willing, maybe you could program it for me.

i'm no electronics guy but most things match up in my manual to that post.

Maybe you could contact the seller with a personal offer.

i hate when ppl post in between multiple pics/posts.... *grumble*
anyway.
hope that helps (and no, plz don't email me asking to scan the whole thing - one that's a lotta time as it's 38 pages, and two, that's illegal. i don't mind bending the rules to share some info (a lot easier than re-typing or recreating the stuff, but i'm not going to duplicate the whole thing, sorry!)

ok, maybe i'm just a tool and it's not copyrighted... so if you need other info feel free to ask, but i'd still prefer not to spend my time scanning and compiling a PDF of the whole thing, unless there's a lot of interest and someone's willing to send a few beers my way 😛
Dmoffit,
Well, it's definitely NOT copyrighted unless it's got a (c) on it (the manual for the QA-1650 that I posted a link to on the 1650 thread didn't have one, and I wouldn't have done it if it did) AND you are definitely NOT a tool (A tool wouldn't have stepped up to the scanner and posted this stuff)! 😎
I don't need a whole manual myself, just the pinouts so I can get cables made (or make 'em), I'm guessing that you access the various menus without having a remote by pressing the button panels the same way you do on the other Sharp panels. But if you wanted to scan those couple of pages so and put them here for the benefit of the QA-2500 collective, that would be awsome.
AND, I just went to save one of the pictures and the file saves as sharp2500_specs01.jpg so it seems that these are INDEED the pinouts I've been jumping up and down for!.

Help me confirm that I have a QA2500
Hi everyone.
I had bought a Sharp QA-2500 from a guy who posted one up in an auction and just received it today.
Problem is that I can't find the s-video port that I thought it had. Nor does it have a 4-pin power-adapter. For that matter, the power brick sticker doesn't match the one shown in this thread. The ac connector is only one of those round ones that go into a single pin on the panel side.
The side I/O connectors only have a serial, monitor out, and a computer in.
Do all the sharp qa's look alike (same shape, color, etc.)? I can't confirm myself because the model number on the front has been scratched out and the back sticker has the serial number and model number scratched out as well 😕 I'm worried now that I got ripped off.
If this is not a 2500, what is it then? All I can tell is that it is a sharp QA-something.
Please help.
Thanks

if possible, take a pic of your panel. how large is the screen? measure the diagonal lenght, it is a good indicator of which panel you have. early panels had smaller screens, then qa-2500 has the largest screen of all qa panels. i'll stand by for your description. or maybe an ebay link to your auction?
I'll try taking a pic and posting it when I get home. I'll take the measurements too.
Here's the link to the panel that was on auction. The winner there is not me. I had contacted the seller with some questions while the auction was in progress and later, after the auction was completed, he offered me the panel since the winner of the auction said he was bidding on the wrong item and wouldn't pay for it.

That panel looks like a 1750 - What's it say in the upper left hand corner? If it is a 1750 you still got a good panel (I hope you didn't pay the price on that auction though - that was a premium for even a 2500).
I snapped some photos of my 2500, I'll post them here in a bit for reference.
