Cal has a bit of HF loss from being a construcneer... hence his penchant for a hot top-end.
Most of these boxes have been designed with the knowledge that driver parameters vary unit to unit and within the same unit at different drive levels, hence an FR & WR are pretty much interchangable.

I must say you are really productive making a big Spawn family
I think I would do a MTM with 16ohm WR
Wonder what would happen with an Exstremis on the sides in each mouth opening .... nah, too exspencive and crazy, wouldnt work and probably be kicked out of the Spawn family😀
Dave, I guess you will try that RAW driver in some big horn some day

I'm working on the companion for dual extremis as we speak.

🙂
Maybe in something like this (concept for a customers FE206eSR)

I did not have luck with that.
I really like that I can xo the driver nice and high and enjoy the full benefits of the wr without having to deal with the MTM. The side mounted driver is a big plus. A big thanks goes to Dave on that one.
I'm glad I listen to him.
I am sure you are right
But with tweeter and WR on front, and sidefired WR fullranged or with xo
How on earth do you xo and wire that thing, I would like to know - I would exspect all sorts of strange things happening
But you have made it, and says it works...
But hard to tell,...there is even one with only a tweeter on front and mid/woofer facing upwards, and is said to be good ...which actually could indicate that you could have both WR on each sides, and only tweeter on front ....and only xo on tweeter .. who knows
respectfully

I have the wr's running full range and the TB tweeter with a 1 mfd cap and some padding. The ports are lightly stuffed.
I reread your post.
One driver on the front with a tweeter and the other on the side by itself. Mirror imaged so you can have the side drivers firing inward or out. Very nice effect.

Twin driver Extremis theoretical modelling completed. Dave's working on the drawings. Single low mounted horn, MathCad indicates 20Hz in room.

All good fun. 🙂
Well, OK confession. The twin driver version is the one that gets to 20Hz. The smaller, single driver version doesn't go quite as low I'm afraid. Only 25Hz.
That's what MathCad indicates anyway, and I learned to trust Martin's software a long time ago.

Scott,
20 Hz is deeper than my ears need. A lot of my stuff is PA so I'm very used to 50 - 15K. I was actually a little surprised at the depth of the wr's. Dandy little driver when implemented properly. Can't wait for the Extremis drawings to come down the pipe so I can get going on it.
Three cheers for Scott and Dave.

Just had a friend over for the first critical listening session/test.
They passed.
Even before beer.

Even before beer.

Cal,
20 to 20 is a rubbish idea, nice to sell rubbish if you need the money.
40 to 15 is dangerous, friends tend to stay until there's no beer left...how did the tiny drivers do when "now c'm on, let's rock" was on?

It beats thinking about 9-5. 🙂

Uh-oh, that would take till next week. I tapped a new keg on Saturday.
how did the tiny drivers do
I hear you Pit. I have to say I was surprised that I could get 90 something dB and still be happy. This alignment has a lot to do with why the lack of anything other than a simple filter is working so well.

Heel doggy - heel I say!
Dave,
Could you crazy Canuck and the rest of the gang please allow me a minute to regroup my shattered mind before attacking with more ideas?
The abovementioned tiny mind got pressganged (ask Scott if you don't know how pressing was done) to sail HMS Sachico...got the drivers, have to find the money to get the wood, might take a month or so - in the meantime I might be able to interpolate the missing measures from the pdf I have. AJHorn is not happy with the CC anyway, so I'll spend my time grumbling and fumbling.
And as to "Sachico": I understand the name is a hommage à Mr.Nagaoka, but Babelfish can't find me a translation - could you
me there?

Seems to be more commonly spelled Sachiko. I'll have to fix that. means "Happy Child"
Mikasa "Beauty Bloom"

Hiro "broad, widespread" This is a unisex name and balances Harvey as a female. And that they are a little strange may be why we have Calhoun,
