I have LXMini and Open Baffel Tang Band 1808 with beyma 12Br70 dual per side all amps are Hypex nCore . In Car have Pioneer compoent and 12" Alpine Subwoofer sealed . Home theatre want to build but As GM said its not ideal to have SB 8" FR sealed box so seacrh onMaybe @tigeranand should mention what are his current speakers that cope with this loudness volume?
To judge how the sb20 would compare
Do you still think the SB Acoustics SB20FRPC30-8 is a bargain?
Under €50 for 1 unit.
You don't get that many 8"
drivers for that price.
What do you think are their strongest streng this driver has?

The SB "sound right" and that is an elusive quality. I have not heard the Seas fullranges. I have a pair of Goodman Axiette Alnico nothing wrong with them but the SB sound better.
I have owned Philips 9710 and listened to Lowther 6C and they have that obvious highrange shout with that huge lift above 2 kHz.
Voxativ also sound very right and balanced from the get go (at a hifi show)
I think the SB is a bargain both for the sound quality price ratio and also the balanced T/S parameters that gives flexibility in cabinet implementation.

Yes, the SB is for the price a very good driver, as I wrote earlier I use it in OB (now revisited) and with proper treatment it can deliver really fine sound. So yes, definitely a bargain.

Better modern day 'Bofu' (RadioShack B20FU20-51FW) Vs GRS 8FR-8 claimed 'replacement'?I think the SB is a bargain both for the sound quality price ratio and also the balanced T/S parameters that gives flexibility in cabinet implementation.
Good morning from Greece, I have bought this 8” SB20FRPC30 loudspeaker, I have installed it in a 26 liter closed-type cabinet and although it has been playing for 15 hours, the sound continues to be somewhat harsh and with strong peaks, resulting in some tiring listening. did you suggest me to do? To add that I use an svs sub from 150 hertz and below.
Try off axis? It gets very balanced when it is not looking directly at your face. And yes 26 liters is too small, try 40, sealed or vented....
Also sound depends largely on room acoustics, if the room is too empty and reflective I can imagine that fatique comes quickly...

Play with the stuffing, it has drastic effects on the sound, too much and too close to the driver can very detrimental effects.
More volume also help beyond the bass, having more space for backwave to dissipate.
The driver has a likely intentional lift in the upper end to provide better off axis response, which it does, you may need to apply a high shelf filter around 2-3kHz to get more balanced sounding response, or as suggested listen off axis.
off-axis actually sounds pretty good but the EQ is good option to consider if you are listening loud, there will be less power into the driver (and amp in the case of active or digital) and less unnecessary HF energy being dumped into the room.
With passive high shelf (resistor+inductor parallel) driver will see a high impedance at these frequencies, this could help soften the sound up by a different mechanism.
The passive filter shelf wont be flat, it will have subtle rise towards the top due to driver inductance

Well, when folks say 'harsh' I 'think' 'edge' which is in the whizzer BW, so recommend the cheap/reversible $0.98 Lowther tweak.
I think he's getting a huge bump in the midbass from the small sealed enclosure+proximity to the wallP
Probably sounds very tube-y and nasal?
The treble is very non-offensive in my experience so far....

True, but experience has taught me it's better to have flat on axis and use toe-in as required. 😉
