If perhaps 6W/4R is enough power, yes. You can then use much smaller medium power and power transistors.

Google it. BYV34 is a twin diode in a TO-220 package. Plenty of alternatives can be used.

This amp run at 35V minimum, I suggest to use TDA2002 for amp run at 12V.
