Reference DAC Module - Discrete R-2R Sign Magnitude 24 bit 384 KHz

I got a rev 4 and ordered some polymer caps today. So, to confirm. Danny_66 showed how to easily place them on the 3,3V Vout, on J9. https://www.diyaudio.com/forums/ven...magnitude-24-bit-384-khz-482.html#post6496437

Then there is also the cap on Vin, on J2. But where exactly have you connected this? On J2 Pin 1, 4, 7 and 10 are GND, pin 2 is PWR A-, 3 is PWR A+, 5 is PWR -5V, 6 is PWR +5V, 8 is PWR 3.3V and 9 is PWR 1.2V. I am quite sure it is to PWR A+ (and gnd)?

many thanks, Erik

Check the data sheet for the regulator on your board and use a multimeter to confirm the locations. Make sure you use appropriate voltage rating of the caps.

The dam1021 adjust its oscillator with an accuracy of 1 Hz, it don't have anything to do with drift. The oscillator will adjust as needed, but can never hit exactly the frequency of the incomming sample rate. It have been explained multiple times since 2014, please read the whole thread 🙂

The adjustments happens in a interrupt routine, so If you want to test without updates, just enter uManager, updates then stop.... But I doubt that anybody can hear it.
Has someone already tried this? I listened to music with it for some time yesterday and can only recommend testing it.

Hi,

I have a Soekris DAM1021 that connects directly to the 3.3v supply.
Sadly the sound is distorted by applying the wrong 5v here.
I know that 3.3v power is used for FPGA, MicroController, Flash and Isolators.
Ask for advice on how to check and whether it can be repaired by replacing parts.

I'm trying to buy a new one, but it's out of stock and it's too late.

It seems your code does not read the serial data, or am i mistaken? Do you think reading the sample rate and exiting/re-entering uManager on change is worthwhile?
Yes, I only use one input and I found it unnecessary to display the sample rate. After calling up the uManager, no change in the sample rate is recognized and it is no longer possible to change the volume. everyone has to decide for himself whether he wants that.

The dam1021-12 rev7 is now in stock and ready for shipment. It will come with firmware with the updated PLL software. I will soon backport that PLL software to also support pre rev7 dam1021.

Sorry to bug with the same question again, but is Mod House Audio going to get stock? Being in Canada, they are my 'proper' source, but I would just as happily order direct from Soekris.
